What is it that makes so many college students behave in such a stupid, ugly, thuggish and just plain evil way?

This isn’t unique to America. During Hitler’s rise to power, when the Nazi Party was just beginning to gain notice on the German stage, the most ardent supporters of Hitler were the students at the university in Munich. They led the way on anti-Semitism, burning books by Jewish intellectuals even before the SA.

So I ask again. What is it about the college environment that brings out the very worst in people.
