The Hillbilly Ecosystem is a "large tent" ecosystem. All are welcome who are not neo-Nazis or moonbats. As evidence of that I offer our newest member. Elvis Drinkmo is a registered Green who describes himself as, "100% Appalachian" and (this is the most important part) an opponent of gun control.
He writes well and has a delightful essay up about fireflies, which I agree with wholeheartedly. They are also my favorite insects.
