Bilbray beats Busby, the jackass weeps

From SignOnSanDiego.com:

Republican Brian Bilbray beat Democrat Francine Busby early Wednesday in a close race to replace imprisoned former Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham in the 50th Congressional District, a contest seen as a gauge of voter attitudes for the national midterm elections.

You will recall that the left was placing all their hopes on this race. It was seen as the test case for the coming general elections in November. The race was to fill the seat of Cunningham and was therefore a perfect chance for the Jackass Party to test out its “Culture of Corruption” theme.

Alas, it seems that the culture of corruption has disappeared into a fog bank of free boxing tickets and frozen bribe money.

Another important factor in this race was the emphasis on illegal immigration. Bilbray made combating illegal immigration the central theme of his campaign. Busby, on the other hand, was caught on tape telling an illegal alien that “you don’t need papers to vote”.

In the Hispanic community being “without papers” means being illegal.

Although Busby attempted to slither out of her embarrassing statement by claiming that she only meant that he could work for her campaign, her words say what they say.

This election should send two messages. One to Democrats that the “culture of corruption” is not going to fly. For a Party which has no honor, integrity, honesty, character or any other positive moral qualities victory will not come by focusing the public’s attention on ethics.

The other message is to Republicans. Support of illegal immigration is a losing position. One part of me is disappointed that both my Senators voted against the Senate’s amnesty bill. That’s how anxious I am to vote against one of the RINO traitors.

A very great many Republicans feel the same way.
