Driving around the mountains

I was asked to post more pictures:

This was taken from the Rat Branch Boat Ramp in Carter Co. TN.

This is the Watauga Dam which dams up the Watauga River and forms Watauga Lake. The Watauga River crosses over into North Carolina into Watauga County.

There was once an Indian tribe who lived in this area but their name escapes me.





This is the Pond Mountain Shooting Range. To shoot here costs $2.00.











A rifle rack is thoughtfully provided.

The safety rules are provided, in case you didn't know them.

All of this is in the Cherokee National Forest, by the way.

Somebody needs their ass kicked. Crap like this is what gives shooters a bad name and gets public ranges closed down.

On the way home I snapped this picture of Grandfather Mountain in Avery County, North Carolina. This is from about 5 miles away and facing SE.

This weekend I'll try to post some pictures of one of the most famous stretches of road in the country.

Sorry that none of these was as interesting as a bicycle chain.
