The River

Here are some shots of the Rocky Broad River. The water was up due to all the rain we've been getting.

When the water level is normal you can see a great many more of the rocks that give the river its name.

I'll try to get some better pictures by the weekend.

It isn't a tame river. This river flooded six years ago and nearly destroyed the community of Chimney Rock.

This is my favorite kind of weather, cool and cloudy with a bit of rain.

My least favorite, in fact I hate it with a passion, is hot and dry. My goal every summer is just to try and survive.

Fall is when I come alive. Wait until you see what these mountains look like when the leaves are changing.
