The Linville River

On my way home today I had a few minutes to spare so I stopped by the Linville Falls visitor center on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

There are three hiking trails, two of which take you to the Linville Falls.

I didn't have time to go all the way to the falls so here are some pictures of the river and trail near the visitor center.

This is the Linville River.

This view is downriver from the visitor center.

This is upriver.

You cross the river to get to the hiking trail.

Note that the leaves are beginning to change.

The trail has the river on one side.

And the woods on the other.
