The lights are going out all across Europe. . .

Islam could soon be the dominant force in a Europe which, in the name of political correctness, has abdicated the battle for cultural and religious control, Prof. Bernard Lewis, the world-renowned Middle Eastern and Islamic scholar, said on Sunday.

The Muslims "seem to be about to take over Europe," Lewis said at a special briefing with the editorial staff of The Jerusalem Post. Asked what this meant for the continent's Jews, he responded, "The outlook for the Jewish communities of Europe is dim." Soon, he warned, the only pertinent question regarding Europe's future would be, "Will it be an Islamized Europe or Europeanized Islam?" The growing sway of Islam in Europe was of particular concern given the rising support within the Islamic world for extremist and terrorist movements, said Lewis.

Lewis, whose numerous books include the recent What Went Wrong?: The Clash Between Islam and Modernity in the Middle East, and The Crisis of Islam: Holy War and Unholy Terror, would set no timetable for this drastic shift in Europe, instead focusing on the process, which he said would be assisted by "immigration and democracy." Instead of fighting the threat, he elaborated, Europeans had given up.

"Europeans are losing their own loyalties and their own self-confidence," he said. "They have no respect for their own culture." Europeans had "surrendered" on every issue with regard to Islam in a mood of "self-abasement," "political correctness" and "multi-culturalism," said Lewis, who was born in London to middle-class Jewish parents but has long lived in the United States.

Like I keep telling you. Stick a fork in Europe it's done. The default position of Europe, even before the birth of Christ, was to dislike the Jews. Jew hatred grew worse as the Roman Catholic Church sought to claim the promises of rule over a future earthly kingdom which God had made to Israel for itself. This European hatred for the Jews found its ultimate expression in the Holocaust.

After the end of WWII when the extent of the crime which had been committed, often with the collusion of the occupied populations (The Vichy French rounded up their Jews and sent them to the death camps without having to be told to do so by the Nazis and Poles would follow the einsatzgruppen out to where they were killing the Jews and cheer them on), guilt sent the historic hatred of Jews into temporary remission.

It has now reemerged and its virulence is growing. Post-colonial white guilt and the economic benefits of partnership with oil-rich Islamic nations have combined with the bred-to-the-bone antisemitism of the average European to form a toxic mixture which is poisoning the soul of a continent. Add to this the savage hatred for Jews of the savage communicants of the savage religion of Islam who are pouring into Europe in all their savage millions from their savage semi-civilized homelands in North Africa and the Middle East and you have an antisemitic critical mass which is on the verge of exploding into a series of pogroms which will make the pogroms of the Middle Ages seem pleasant by comparison.

I have said before than any European who loves freedom needs to dispose of his property and get out now, while there is still time.
