For those of you who follow the BBC series Dr. Who which airs on BBC America and the Science Fiction Channel here is a tidbit about what is upcoming.
This season there is a multi-part episode in which The Doctor retrieves Captain Jack Harkness (a human time traveler from the 51st century) from his job as the director of the Torchwood office in Cardiff to assist him with a very difficult situation. The return of The Master.
The Master was the Doctor's most dangerous adversary in that The Master was another Time Lord, just like The Doctor. As an added treat The Master is played by John Simm (who portrays Sam Tyler, the time traveling policeman from the BBC's series Life on Mars).
I have always known that the new Dr. Who would have to deal with The Master eventually. There is no why that he would have reported like a good soldier to fight in the Time War with the other Time Lords. That meant that he had to be out there somewhere and it was only a matter of time before his path crossed with The Doctor's.
Now there is one more element that the new Dr. Who is going to have to deal with.
Romana (short for Romanadvoratrelundar), the female Time Lord that The Doctor left in E-Space (she wanted to stay). I strongly suspect that the alternate universe where Rose Tyler and her family are currently located is E-Space and that they will encounter Romana. Romana will return to The Doctor's universe after learning of the Time War and the extinction of the Time Lords either to breed with The Doctor and continue the Gallefreyan race or to kill him for exterminating her race.
Either way I see hijinks.
