Fred to announce in Sept.

Patrick at Born Again Redneck Yogi has linked to several reports that indicate that Fred Thompson is planning to announce his candidacy just after Labor Day in early September.

He is leading in the Republican primary polls without even being officially in the race and the Clinton machine is spitting out smear stories on him as fast as they can invent them so I guess there is very little doubt any more that it is going to be Thompson vs. Clinton in 2008.
