Not "getting" the "War on Terror"

From Front Page Magazine:

As of Wednesday Israeli civilians were sitting ducks again. Rockets landed near Sderot and near Ashkelon and the Israeli army did not respond. Although the civilians’ luck held out and the rockets only hit open fields, they may have been intended as a show of force and a warning to Israel not to contemplate any further moves.

Condi Rice was in town, and it was time to turn the other cheek. Impressions over the weekend that Israel was finally launching a big operation in Gaza dispelled quickly by Monday morning; Rice was on her way and the Bush administration had signaled its displeasure over Israel’s brief war on terror. Israeli forces were withdrawn in about as much time as it had taken Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to state on Sunday that “Israel has no intention to stop fighting even for one moment.”

It was “peace” time again. The object of Rice’s supplication, Mahmoud Abbas, had said Israel’s strikes in Gaza, which he called “worse than the Holocaust,” made further talks impossible. This clearly caused Rice much more concern than the rockets on the Israeli towns. She has never seen the rockets as an untenable situation; a suspension of talks with Abbas is something else again.

As always, it didn’t matter what the anointed Abbas had done, not done, or said. That a few weeks earlier he had proclaimed three days of mourning for the arch-terrorist George Habash. That he had not reformed a single PA institution, disarmed a single militia, or legitimized Israel in the mind of a single genocidally brainwashed Palestinian child.

You know I used to think that Rice would make a good president. Of course we have to remember that as the Secretary of State she is only implementing her boss's policy. If what she is doing is not what George W Bush wants then he has a duty to reform her behavior or remove her altogether.

The fact is that Israel is just one battlefield in the global jihad just as Iraq is another. If Western civilization is to survive we have to get as serious about fighting the war as our enemies already are. Europe is going to be no help. The European leaders know that their continent will be majority Muslim by 2050 unless they want to start expelling Muslims right now. However that would mean abandoning their socialist welfare states and the native Europeans will not put up with that so their hands are tied. The best we can expect from Europe is that it they will not start actively start supporting the jihad until after the new Muslim majority puts the EU under sharia.

As things stand now the US and Israel are the only two nations in the Western world willing to fight the jihad even part-time. We must stop tying Israel's hands and allow them to decisively smash the Palestinians. And by smash I mean defeat them so utterly that they forever lose the will to fight.

It can be done. After a year or so of unrestrained slaughter by the Isralies those Palestinians who remain alive will dig their "leaders" out of their bunkers and hang them then show the bodies to the IDF commanders and tell them "Now the people who started this are dead. Please let the rest of us live. We were once millions now we are hundreds. We have laid down our arms. We have burned our Korans. Just let us have one little village somewhere so that we can live and raise our children and not have our people perish completely from the face of the earth."
