Left wingers for McCain

Sen. John McCain's campaign has announced a group of prominent Democratic and unaffiliated leaders and activists who have joined Citizens for McCain, a new grassroots effort headed by Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) to rally Americans of all political parties to support McCain's candidacy.

"Citizens for McCain is an organization within the McCain campaign for people who put country before political party and support the presidential candidate who has a proven record of bipartisanship," said Lieberman.

You can go look at the list if you want to, but the people you will find divide into two categories. One are bitter gender feminists who are angry about Hillary losing the nomination and are determined to punish the Democrat party by seeing that it looses this November.

The other category is made up of nobodies that you never heard of who see a chance to grab a little piece of the spotlight by associating themselves with a nationally known figure like Joe Lieberman in what will be seen as a "controversial" move. Not to mention the fact that they feel that the handwriting on the wall is telling of a McCain victory will put them on the side of the winner.

Republicans who think of this as good news need to take a step back and consider the fact that with the single exception of national security issues Joe Lieberman is a left-liberal. Oh I know he claims to hold center-right views on a handful of social issues but he proved that he cares absolutely nothing about those issues when he tossed them overboard to become Al Gore's running mate (just like any "conservative" who agrees to run with John McCain will prove that he cares absolutely nothing about his supposedly conservative principles).

Is this really the man who we want telling us who to vote for?

Are we really going to support a man who can so easily gain the endorsement of people who support left-wing economic and social policies which will ruin the nation?

I know that many people feel that to not vote for McCain is the same thing as voting for Obama but that is not the case. To be murdered and to commit suicide will both leave you dead, but there is an enormous moral difference between the acts. To vote for either McCain or Obama is to vote for someone who will do his level best to ruin and destroy the nation. If you refuse to vote for either of them you may still wind up with a ruined nation but at least you will not have participated in the ruin. You will not bear moral responsibility for it.
