The candidates for president have today to make their final pitches to the voters. The better polls show a razor thin race with Obama ahead by fewer than five points, which is not enough to overcome the polls' built-in overestimation of Democrat support.
On Friday Zogby had McCain ahead but within the margin of error. Polling by Zogby done over the weekend suggests that was a fluke because his weekend polling suggests that Obama is now ahead by 7.1%.
Polls done over the weekend are known to significantly inflate the Democrat's numbers because so few Republicans are home by the phone on weekends (this is because Republicans tend to have families). I am frankly surprised that a pollster as credible as Zogby would even release a weekend poll as I have heard him discuss their worthlessness.
In any case the election remains too close to call but my gut tells me that most people who were undecided as of Friday are not going to take a chance on the American Chavez (if not Castro).
But I remind you again:
Obama doesn't lose unless you actually get out and vote!
