In the 1960s the construction of the interstate highway system was in full swing as well as the paving, straightening and widening of thousands of state roads. Many people lived near areas where this kind of construction was going on and every year dozens of children would be maimed or even killed when they came across blasting caps and tried to play with them. I remember living in Asheville when I-40 and I-26 were being built and seeing blasting cap PSAs which were a great deal more graphic than this one.

Remember that during WWII Stalin wasn't the monster who murdered as many as 25 million of his own people. He was "good old Uncle Joe" our best friend.



I used to have one of those toy rifles. My mom saved up enough S&H Green Stamps to get it for me for my bithday.
