24 is coming!

Less than two hours separate us from tonight's exciting episode of 24. When last we saw our intrepid heroes they were sealed into safe areas while all others in CTU headquarters were perishing in agony from the nerve gas.

Based on the previews it would seem that this nerve gas is highly corrosive as it is eating through the seals protecting the major characters from death. I mean we could kill Chloe or Buchanan or even the lovely but useless Kim. However Jack is in there too and he aint assuming room temperature.

We also have Robocop on the loose (I think he will turn out to be a deep cover good guy) and the incredibly weak weasel of a president in charge with his mentally ill wife the only thing standing between the Evil Vice President and an all out dictatorship.

Just wait. That Evil Vice President will turn out to be a gun owner and a hunter and a Christian too! No wonder he's trying to set up a theocracy with Pat Robertson as the new American Pope and Franklin Graham as the Grand Inquisitor!

  1. I'm no good at speculating when it comes to cloak n dagger type stuff, so honestly, I can't see where this is all going. This was an odd show, transitioning to the next big thing I suppose.
Tony wanting to kill Robocop even after he knew how important it was to keep alive was strange. And Tony's demise was unexpected, for me. I knew Hobbitboy would try to redeem himself with a sacrifice.

I did get a sick chuckle when Jack had the shrink in a death grip and Chloe shouts out 'OK, I'll do it!'
Jack, the master of persuation and employee motivation!

Prez. Slinky is starting to annoy the crap out of me! Who elected this useless pants pee-er?

  2. This one held my interest all the way through even though I know how silly the "run through the nerve gas while holding your breath" nonsence was.

  3. Yes, that's a bit of a stretch.
    Oh well.
My thinking is that, as far as acting for the small screen is concerned, they felt it better to go with that rather than bulky haz-mat suits and masks-that limits your 'emoting'. That's why all the protective gear available got convieniently "contamimated".
The behind the scenes constraints are the cause for some of these big holes in the story. Time, budget, location etc.
Bet if they make a movie (which I hear is a possibilty.) most of the things that we notice as being 'so wrong' would be done right.
