Interesting poll results

I saw this poll on the sidebar of a blog and thought it was interesting.

Fred Thompson (76%)

Ron Paul (6%)

Rudy Guiliani (4%)

Newt Gingrich (3%)

Mitt Romney (2%)

Duncan Hunter (2%)

Tom Tancredo (2%)

Tommy Thompson (2%)

John McCain (1%)

Sam Brownback (1%)

Mike Huckabee (1%)

George Pataki (0%)

Of course this is just a poll of the readers of one blog, but still. . . Thompson gets 76% and Julie Annie comes in third behind RON PAUL! And Crazy John McCain gets 1% (gloat, snicker).

All the folks out there beating the Julie Annie drum better sit up and take notice. You don't get to be your party's candidate in the general election if you can't win your party's primary. If Rudy can't convince enough Republicans to vote for him how is he going to get the chance to convince enough of the general public to vote for him.

Going into your party's primary with the intention of appealing to the broadest possible cross section of the entire public is a losing strategy, just ask Joe Lieberman.
