Steve McDonald's composition Valley of the Weeping recounting the Massacre of Glencoe in 1692 when 38 members of Clan MacDonald were murdered on the pretext that they had been slow to pledge their loyalty to the new King William of Orange. An additional 40 women and children froze to death after their homes were burned.
