A couple of pod-people stopped by to comment on my post about Mike Huckabee's video Christmas card. One of them seconded Ron Paul's invocation of America hater Sinclare Lewis's statement that when fascism arrived it would be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross.
We should remember that in those nations which have adopted fascist forms of government fascism has tended to arrive with little or no pretense. Mussolini did not pretend to be other than what he was and Hitler laid out his program in Mein Kampf for anyone with eyes to read.
Even radio host Mike Church was raving about how Huckabee's ad was really saying that he was the "only true Christian in the race" and that he could "out Jesus" anyone and how "his family loved Jesus more than anyone else". Of course a person who is not unhinged doesn't hear anything like that in Huckabee's statement.
Of course those who are objecting most stridently are coming off as though it is Jesus, rather than Huckabee, with whom they have the problem.
Ron Paul especially should be careful how he addresses this issue since the athiests already consider him to be a closet ally of James Dobson.
I again urge people to get a grip. You are only making Mike Huckabee look like the victim of anti-Christian bigotry and aiding his cause.
