Conservatism

There are many people who believe that conservatives are involved in a cult of personality centered around Ronald Reagan much like that which surrounded Adolph Hitler in Germany.

To those people conservatism was Reagan just as Hitler was the (Nazi) Party.

This is untrue. To the committed Nazi the party was right because it represented the beliefs of Hitler. To the conservative Reagan was great because he believed the principles of conservatism.

Let me state this again for the feeble minded. We do not love conservatism because it is what Reagan was, rather we love Reagan because he was a conservative.

Understand?

Therefore Reaganism was conservatism, nothing more and nothing less.

To say that Reaganism is dead is to say that conservatism is dead and if that is the case then the nation is without hope because only the principles of conservatism can make or keep a nation free and prosperous.
