ACORN fights back

If you've been wondering how ACORN and its mainstream media allies were going to try to rescue the criminal community organization from the avalanche of trouble that two young conservative investigative journalists and their hidden camera have brought upon it here is your answer:

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Much of America discovered James O'Keefe III and Hannah Giles through their hidden-camera, make-believe pimp and prostitute videos of ACORN employees giving advice about establishing a brothel with underage hookers.

But as far back as 2006 - well before the videos became a national sensation and conservative rallying cry - the fresh-faced O'Keefe and Giles connected with a pair of Washington conservative institutions that boast programs training ideological journalists.

Now, due to coordinated promotion of the undercover sting footage by influential players in the conservative media, Giles and O'Keefe have gone from part of the pack to movement superstars.

Giles, a 20-year-old sophomore at Florida International University, spent the summer on a $1,200-a-month internship with the National Journalism Center, a training organization whose alumni include conservative commentator Ann Coulter. Immediately after graduating Rutgers University in 2006, O'Keefe, 25, was paid to set up magazines and newspapers on university campuses for the Leadership Institute, which recruits potential conservative public policy and media stars.

Each has other credentials that place them squarely in the network of activists who believe liberal-leaning mainstream media willfully ignore stories that illustrate the failings of the political left and its leaders.

. . . On Wednesday it [ACORN] sued O'Keefe, Giles and Breitbart over the Baltimore video, saying Maryland law requires consent to create sound recordings.Brian Kettenring, deputy director of national operations for ACORN, contended that conservative media , including Fox, was behind the project.

"O'Keefe and Giles try to make it sound as if they concocted their sordid video scheme on a whim - as if they had no major backers," Kettenring said. "ACORN's lawsuit will smoke out the true motives and conservative money behind these attacks on a community organization that works to better the lives of ordinary Americans every day."

First of all what is so "sordid" about a couple of journalists checking up on an organization which has received millions and is slated to receive billions of dollars of taxpayer money?

Especially when that organization already has a long history of criminal activity?

Those of you who are old enough may remember those days when the CBS television show 60 Minutes sometimes acted as something other than a propaganda tool for the far left. In that vanished bygone age they would do things exactly like this to expose corruption and inform the public.

But back to ACORN's pathetic attempt to deflect attention from the essentially criminal nature of their organization.

ACORN's contention is that if it can be demonstrated that Giles and O'Keefe have ever in their lives spoken to anyone who knows Glenn Beck or anyone else who works at FOX News or if they have in the past ever had any contact with any kind of conservative organization then their project is illegitimate.

First of all the issue is what the video tapes reveal about the mindset and operating principles of ACORN and its employees NOT who originally thought up the sting.

Second, ACORN and its allies have not provided one shred of evidence that the project did not begin exactly as Ms. Giles describes it. The fact that she and Mr. O'Keefe spoke with some members of the media about how to best reveal the results of their investigation means nothing other than the fact that they are intelligent.

Giles and O'Keefe knew that the mainstream media and all of the cable news channels except FOX have become nothing more than the propaganda organs of the far left. They knew that if they released all of the video tapes they shot in various ACORN offices at the same time that while the conservative media would make a big deal of it for a couple of days but the mainstream media would ignore it. The news cycle would move on and the story would be effectively buried.

By rolling out the tapes one after another over a period of days the MSM's willful ignorance became both manifest and embarrassing and the Democrat controlled congress, which would have loved to pretend that this story did not exist, was forced to take action.

Now both the Census Bureau and the IRS have severed their ties to the corrupt organization and congress has stripped them of federal funds (goodbye billions of stimulus dollars).

ACORN as an organization is so far to the political left that from where they are standing Barack Obama looks mainstream. The fact that ACORN believes that its salvation lies in proving that Giles and O'Keefe had some kind of conservative backing is very revealing. It would seem that to them the truth of an accusation has absolutely no relevance. The only thing that matters is who is making the charge, what are their motives and who do they associate with.

It isn't going to work. When ACORN employees didn't bat an eye at the prospect of helping a pimp bring 13-year-old girls into the country to use as sex slaves they removed themselves so far beyond the pale that they will never be able to find their way back.

The ACORNs don't fall far from the tree

A fourth video by an independent filmmaker posing as a pimp along with a purported prostitute has surfaced depicting an ACORN staffer in California assisting the couple in their quest to obtain housing for their illegal sex business.

Much like in their previous undercover stings at the group's offices in Baltimore, Washington and Brooklyn, N.Y., filmmaker James O'Keefe, 25, and his 20-year-old partner Hannah Giles, who posed as a prostitute named "Eden," were given assistance on Aug. 17 from a staffer at ACORN's office in San Bernardino on how to avoid detection by law enforcement. The couple even tell ACORN staffer Tresa Kaelke — who admits on the videotape to previously having sex for money — that they plan on bringing in 12 girls from El Salvador to work in a home they hope to acquire via the community organization.

Do you suppose that our Justice Dept. might take a few minutes off from prosecuting CIA officers whose only crime is keeping the nation safe from another 9/11 style attack in order to open a RICO investigation into ACORN?

Of course to ask the question is to answer it. The Obama administration is not going to do anything that might result in the records of a corrupt criminal radical left-wing organization that has such close ties to Obama himself being brought to light.

This is why ACORN will not carry through on its threat to sue O'Keefe and Giles. There is no way that they are going to create a situation in which these two investigative journalists, who have proven that they know exactly what ACORN is, will have carte blanche to subpoena their records and depose their employees.

ACORN is going to bluff and bluster and spin and depend upon their allies in the mainstream media and the Democrat party to cover for them and try to ride this out.

They will fail.

40 Years Ago Today

40th anniversary of Mary Jo Kopechne’s drowning at Chappaquiddick...Kennedy's story still doubtful

Sometime around midnight, on July 18, 1969 Kennedy drove his Oldsmobile 88 off of a small bridge on Chappaquiddick island, into eight feet of chilly water. The vehicle landed upside-down. While Kennedy managed to free himself from the wreck and swim to safety, his passenger, 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne was left in the car to drown.

Once he reached shore, Kennedy claims to have made seven or eight attempts to rescue Kopechne, but could not free her.

Kennedy then walked back to the cottage where he and four other men, were partying with several young women known as the “Boiler Room Girls“ who had worked on Robert Kennedy‘s campaign. Though Kennedy passed by a fire station and a private home to return to the cottage, he never stopped to ask for help for the trapped Kopechne.

He returned to the party and according to Kennedy himself, informed his cousin and a friend of the situation. The two men, Joseph Gargan and Paul Markham claim to have returned to the scene of the accident and made several unsuccessful attempts to free Kopechne.

Then Kennedy’s story takes an even stranger turn.

After the failed rescue attempts, Kennedy claims to have jumped back into the water and made the 500-foot swim across the channel back to Edgartown. He then walked back to his hotel and spent the night. He even took the time to change clothes and pay a visit to the front-desk, to complain about a noisy party--no doubt Kennedy's sloppy attempt at securing an alibi.

The next morning, Gargan and Markham around 8:00 a.m., and were supposedly shocked to discover that Kennedy never reported the accident to police. According to Kennedy‘s own testimony, he told them: "about my own thoughts and feelings as I swam across that channel ... that somehow when they arrived in the morning that they were going to say that Mary Jo was still alive"

The two men along with Kennedy went back to Chappaquiddick, where Kennedy spent some time making phone calls, seeking advice from various individuals as to how to proceed.

Meanwhile, two fisherman had discovered the submerged car and notified police. At 8:45a.m. a diver recovered the lifeless body of Mary Jo Kopechne.

It was not until 10a.m., over nine hours after driving-off of the bridge that Ted Kennedy went to the police station in Edgarton to report the accident.

Kennedy then gave the following prepared statement to police: “On July 18, 1969, at approximately 11:15 p.m. in Chappaquiddick, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, I was driving my car on Main Street on my way to get the ferry back to Edgartown. I was unfamiliar with the road and turned right onto Dike Road, instead of bearing hard left on Main Street. After proceeding for approximately one-half mile on Dike Road I descended a hill and came upon a narrow bridge.

The car went off the side of the bridge. There was one passenger with me, one Miss Mary [Kopechne], a former secretary of my brother Sen. Robert Kennedy. The car turned over and sank into the water and landed with the roof resting on the bottom. I attempted to open the door and the window of the car but have no recollection of how I got out of the car. I came to the surface and then repeatedly dove down to the car in an attempt to see if the passenger was still in the car. I was unsuccessful in the attempt. I was exhausted and in a state of shock.

I recall walking back to where my friends were eating. There was a car parked in front of the cottage and I climbed into the backseat. I then asked for someone to bring me back to Edgartown. I remember walking around for a period and then going back to my hotel room. When I fully realized what had happened this morning, I immediately contacted the police”

In a move which must have been rather tortuous for her parents, Kennedy attended Mary Jo's funeral, wearing a neck brace (which he reportedly never wore again) and looking rather pathetic.

The diver who recovered Kopechne’s body, John Farrar testified at the official inquest that her body was found where the air pocket would have formed. He said: “Had I received a call within five to ten minutes of the accident occurring, and was able, as I was the following morning, to be at the victim's side within twenty-five minutes of receiving the call, in such event there is a strong possibility that she would have been alive on removal from the submerged car.”

A week after the incident, Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and received a suspended two-month sentence. Kennedy then went on national television to repeat his rather implausible story, and to ask for the public’s “prayers.”

The ensuing scandal and questionable details given by all of those involved is now left to speculation. It was obvious to most people that Kennedy had allowed a young girl to drown, in a desperate and self-serving attempt to protect his political career.

The incident all but guaranteed that Kennedy could never be a serious candidate for President of the United States.

The Kennedy family is connected to organized crime through the patriarch Joe Kennedy, who made the family fortune bootlegging during Prohibition.

It is a practice in such circles to require someone to "make his bones" by committing a murder, a capital crime from which there can be go going back, in order to prove his loyalty and cement him firmly into the organization.

I strongly suspect that Ms. Kopechne was for some reason potentially dangerous or embarrassing to someone in the Kennedy family or to one of its criminal associates. Ted was required to make his bones by getting rid of the young woman.

Doing this forced him to abandon any realistic presidential aspirations but in return he was guaranteed a lifetime seat in the US Senate.

In this life Ted Kennedy's name and family wealth has protected him from any real consequences of his actions (other than never being president). He is now an old man who is dying from cancer and has but a short span upon this earth left to him.

He will very soon face One whose wheels of justice grind slow but grind exceedingly fine.

More Democrats acting like Democrats

News broke last week that Rahm Emanuel, now White House chief of staff, lived rent- free for years in the home of Rep. Rosa De Lauro (D-Conn.) - and failed to disclose the gift, as congressional ethics rules mandate. But this is only the tip of Emanuel's previously undisclosed ethics problems.

One issue is the work Emanuel tossed the way of De Lauro's husband. But the bigger one goes back to Emanuel's days on the board of now-bankrupt mortgage giant Freddie Mac.

Emanuel is a multimillionaire, but lived for the last five years for free in the tony Capitol Hill townhouse owned by De Lauro and her husband, Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg.

During that time, he also served as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee - which gave Greenberg huge polling contracts. It paid Greenberg's firm $239,996 in 2006 and $317,775 in 2008. (Emanuel's own campaign committee has also paid Greenberg more than $50,000 since 2004.)

To be fair, Greenberg had polling contracts with the DCCC before - but each new election cycle brings its own set of consultants. And Emanuel was certainly generous with his roommate.

Emanuel never declared the substantial gift of free rent on any of his financial-disclosure forms. He and De Lauro claim that it was just allowable "hospitality" between colleagues. Hospitality - for five years?

Some experts suggest that it was also taxable income: Over five years, the free rent could easily add up to more than $100,000.

Nor is this all that seems to have been missed in the Obama team's vetting process. Consider: Emanuel served on the Freddie Mac board of directors during the time that the government-backed lender lied about its earnings, a leading contributor to the current economic meltdown.

The Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight Agency later singled out the Freddie Mac board as contributing to the fraud in 2000 and 2001 for "failing in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention." In other words, board members ignored the red flags waving in their faces.

The SEC later fined Freddie $50 million for its deliberate fraud in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

Meanwhile, Emanuel was paid more than $260,000 for his Freddie "service." Plus, after he resigned from the board to run for Congress in 2002, the troubled agency's PAC gave his campaign $25,000 - its largest single gift to a House candidate.

That's what friends are for, isn't it?

Now Rahm Emanuel is in the White House helping President Obama dig out of the mess that Freddie Mac helped start.

The president's chief of staff isn't subject to Senate confirmation, but his ethics still matter. Is this the change that we can depend on?

It is tempting to lay this at the feet of the fact that Emanuel crawled out of the same sewer of Illinois Democrat party machine politics as impeached governor Blagojevich and Obama himself. However this is a problem which is common to the entire Democrat party. After all Obama'a Treasury Secretary who refused to pay his income taxes for some years and lied on his returns in other years is not a Chicago native nor or any of the other Obama appointees who have had to withdraw their names because of tax or other ethical problems.

And Bill Clinton, the most corrupt president in US history, was not from Chicago (although the Little Rock/Hot Springs axis in Arkansas gives Cook County a run for its money). No, the reason why this kind of corruption and criminality is the rule in the Democrat party (unlike the Republican party where it exists but is the exception) flows from the mindset of the kind of person who is attracted to the Democrat party.

The average Democrat who seeks political power is, in his own mind, and elite who is better and smarter than the average citizen. Because the Democrat politician views him or herself as an elite they feel that the rules which apply to everyone else should not apply to them. Rank, after all, should have its privileges.

Democrats also tend to reject the authority of traditional religion-based morality. Observe the way in which his fellow Democrats rushed to defend Bill Clinton after he was caught committing adultery in the Oval Office or the way in which Democrats who claim to be Christian or observant Jews nevertheless still defend practices like abortion.

If you deny the authority of God and hold yourself above the laws of man then what exactly is there to restrain you? Nothing but the fear of legal consequences and public relations problems if you are caught.

And how much fear do those things still inspire? After all Bill Clinton committed perjury in federal court and his only "punishment" was having his law license temporarily suspended and a fine which he could pay with bribe money collected from Red Chinese spies. And he left office with a 60% approval rating despite the fact that both the adultery and the Red Chinese spies were common knowledge by that time.

In the bubble inhabited by the left-wing establishment (Democrat politicians, the mainstream media and academics) the judge of a politician's character is not to be found in how he behaves when no one is looking or in how he handles his own money or how he treats those over whom he personally wields power but in the public positions he takes on a shopping list of liberal litmus test issues. Issues such as abortion, the minimum wage and racial preferences.

Again I point to the example of Bill Clinton who was credibly accused of forcibly raping a woman and was still defended by feminists, one of which said that she would gladly suck him off to "thank him for keeping abortion legal" (she did not, however, indicate whether she would swallow).

In a world in which "virtue" is nothing more than publicly upholding a set of political positions then privately anything goes. Nancy Pelosi can support sweat shops in American Samoa, B. Hussein Obama can engage in corrupt land deals with a felonious Chicago developer and spend 20 years in a church whose pastor screams "God Damn America!" from the pulpit and preaches sermons about how the CIA created AIDS to exterminate black people and befriend an unrepentant communist terrorist bomber like Bill Ayers. Bill Clinton can rape and molest women and rake in hundreds of millions of dollars in illegal contributions from hostile foreign governments and terror-supporting Arab potentates. Barny Frank can allow his "partner" to run a gay prostitution ring out of his apartment and Ted Kennedy can kill a young woman then attempt to bribe someone else to take the blame for it.

Elected Democrats can do all of this which ranges from disgusting hypocrisy to outright criminality and still be welcome in and be defended by their party because they want to "keep abortion legal". Is there anything so terrible that a Democrat, even one who supports abortion, can be expelled from that party? As a matter of fact there is. Joe Lieberman - supporter of partial birth abortion - was kicked out of the Democrat party for the monstrous crime of taking a principled stand in support of the war against Islamofascism.

So a Democrat will lose the support of his party if he comes out in favor of making war on people who do things like plan and execute the 9/11 attacks, stone homosexuals to death and behead or hang young girls for the "crime" of "allowing" themselves to be raped and thereby bringing shame upon their father and brothers. Provided that the war was begun under the leadership of a Republican president.

Of course a political party which offers unconditional support to any elected official who will simply support a particular legislative agenda and oppose anything supported by Republicans will be attractive not only to left-wing ideologues but to another class of people commonly known as sociopaths.

Which answers the oft asked question of "what the hell's wrong with that damned party anyway?" You fill a political party's leadership with people who are either true-believers who will do anything to further their ideological agenda or are sociopaths willing to do anything to further their personal agenda, neither of which believe that the rules which govern normal mortals apply to them, and you get exactly what you see running Washington today.

Blago gone

SPRINGFIELD -- Rod R. Blagojevich at 4:51 p.m. Thursday became the first governor in Illinois' 190-year history to be driven from office by impeachment.

Senators voted 59-0 to dump Blagojevich, who was arrested Dec. 9 on federal corruption charges. And minutes later, they voted 59-0 to bar him from ever holding elected office in Illinois again. Later, outside his Northwest Side home, Blagojevich said, "I predicted it. The fix was in from the very beginning."

At 5:40 p.m., Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn placed his hand on a family Bible held by 25-year-old son Patrick, took the oath of office from Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke and broke into a broad grin as spectators in the House rose to their feet and cheered the arrival of a new era.

"I want to say to the people of Illinois, the ordeal is over," said Quinn, who became the state's 41st governor.

Most observers, knowing that Blagojevich was caught on tape by federal investigators attempting to sell the Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama, would find little or nothing remarkable in his removal from office.

However observers familiar with the Democrat party in general and the Illinois Democrat party in particular are somewhat amazed by the events described above.

Under normal circumstances when a Democrat is caught red-handed in some form of official corruption other Democrats invoke what is to them the third most sacred principle of American law, the presumption of innocence (the first and second most sacred being abortion and gay marriage). However in this case the party did not pretend that the evidence conclusively proving guilt did not exist and acted swiftly to remove the corrupt politician from office and from among their midst.

We must ask ourselves why. Have the Democrats suddenly become so ashamed of being the party of sleaze and corruption that they have decided to clean up their act?

Of course we know that isn't the case so what is it?

The answer is simple. Blagojevich was an embarrassment to the little messiah.

Blagojevich and Obama are alike creatures of the unbelievably corrupt sewer of the Cook County Democrat machine. They are constructed from the materials to be found in that sewer. They are not simply touched by or covered in the sewer they are the sewer.

Blagojevich and Obama's ties are close and they go back for years and Obama's new chief of staff, another Illinois sewer dweller, was on those tapes possibly getting very close to negotiating with Blagojevich over exactly what kind of quid pro quo Blago could expect to get somewhere down the road for installing the little messiah's hand picked successor in his Senate seat.

Clearly Blago had to be hustled out the exit as quickly as possible otherwise the little messiah's tinfoil halo might have gotten seriously tarnished.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the coming months. One would think that with nothing left to lose politically and facing a federal prison term that Blago would be trying to cut a deal with the US Attorney to rat out everyone he knows in exchange for immunity.

Other Illinois Democrats have to know that and the White House has to know that so why hasn't Blagojevich's body already been found in Fort Marcy Park? The only thing I can think of is that some kind of backroom deal has been struck in exchange for Blago's silence.

If I am correct we will see the criminal case against Blagojevich collapse in the months to come. He will either walk on a technicality or recieve a short term of probation after being allowed to plead guilty to one minor charge. After this he will be given a large advance on a book deal from a publisher with ties to high level Democrats.

Either that or he will manage to shoot himself eight times through the brain while cleaning the six-shot revolver that no one who knows him has ever seen before.

Stan Lee's brush with the law

Last week when posting about Stan Lee's new gay superhero I mentioned that his association with an FOB - Friend of Bill (Clinton) - nearly earned him a jail sentence. Our friend Patrick, who blogs at The Pagan Temple, asked for details. Here is the Cliff Notes version.

In the mid to late 90's Stan Lee befriended an attorney named Peter Paul - a friendship which was based in part on their shared left-wing political views. Paul was able to negotiate a contract for Mr. Lee with Marvel Comics which allowed him to work on outside projects. This led to Lee and Paul forming a company called Stan Lee Media, which later went public.

Paul and another corporate officer named Stephan Gordon illegally manipulated stock prices in the corporation in order to defraud investors. Part of the money they raised in this way was funneled into the campaign of Hillary Clinton who was running for her first term in the US Senate.

When the SEC discovered the illegal activities Stan Lee Media filed for bankruptcy and Paul fled to Brazil, but was later extradited back to the US. The SEC investigated Stan Lee's involvement in the affair but could not find sufficient evidence to disprove Lee's claim that he was only the creative side of the management team and had no idea what was going on in the financial side of the company, although Lee was on record approving of his companies efforts to help the Clintons.

My point is not that Stan Lee was personally involved in illegal activities but that his association with the kind of people who associate with Bill and Hillary Clinton landed him in the cross hairs of a federal felony investigation. The Clinton Machine is nothing more than an ongoing criminal enterprise and associating yourself with it, even peripherally, is asking for trouble.

The new faces of the left

From The Hill:

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) threatened Friday to filibuster any attempt to seat Democratic Minnesota Senate candidate Al Franken next week.

The newly minted National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) chairman said he had not whipped votes in the GOP caucus, but added that he could not imagine any members defecting and seating Franken without a certificate of election.

Franken will not have that certificate as long as the election is challenged in the courts — a likely scenario, with Sen. Norm Coleman’s (R-Minn.) legal team already attacking the credibility of the recount process.

Good for the Republicans. The Democrats are hardly even bothering to pretend that this is anything other than a stolen election. The GOP must go on record challenging and protesting this. To do otherwise would be to, in effect, become an accessory after the fact to the Jackass party's criminal behavior.

And that will be fatal in 2010. The Republican party has a bit less than two years to draw a clear and meaningful distinction between itself and its opponents. The GOP must learn the lessons of the 2006 and 2008 elections.

One, despite the very high profile takeover of the legislature in 2006 most Americans on election day, 2008 still believed that the Republican party was in control of both houses of congress! The single-digit congressional approval numbers hurt the GOP despite the fact that they were not setting the agenda in either chamber.

Two, the GOP's embrace of "me-too Republicanism" (led by George W Bush's big-government "compassionate conservatism") and abandonment of its core limited-government values blurred the distinction between the parties so badly that B. Hussein Obama (a man whose disagrees with Karl Marx only on the topic of Marx's atheism - and nothing else) was actually able to campaign to the right of his "Republican" opponent in the last election on fiscal issues!

Which brings us to the third and most important lesson for the GOP. Don't nominate someone who has built his reputation on stabbing you in the back. If our candidate is someone who is most proud of all the ways in which he has helped the enemy do things which hurt the country we should not even consider him for the office of president.

Now on a related story I bring this to your attention:

New York (CBS) - New York Gov. David Paterson says the search is ongoing, but two people close to him tell The Associated Press they believe Caroline Kennedy will be appointed to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate.

Following continuing criticism of Kennedy, Paterson on Thursday threw down the gauntlet. Though Kennedy appears to be the front-runner to replace Clinton, Paterson said the next junior Senator from New York will have to win re-election on his or her own.

The Governor of New York has the right to appoint anyone he wants to fill Hillary Clinton's Senate seat and there is no provision in the NY State constitution that the person be qualified in any other way than the age and citizenship requirements set forth for any other Senator.

The fact that she is a woman of no accomplishment, no political skill and apparently only a very limited intellect is not a legal obstacle to her appointment.

The GOP should publicly note the fact that this woman's only qualification for office is her maiden name, so we'll be on record as warning New Yorkers that this is a bad idea, and then step out of the Democrat's way and let them appoint her.

The fact is that the more dim-bulbs the Democrats have in congress the better it will be for the GOP and the United States.

The time when smart Democrats would oppose their party's more idiotic lurches to the left are long past. Now it is the Democrats with the highest IQ who are leading the charge leftward with all the concomitant losses of liberty and prosperity that socialism will bring.

The less intellectual firepower the left has to push its poison agenda the better. I am convinced that one of the principle reasons for the collapse of the mainstream media is the sheer stupidity of so many of its leading figures. Think about it, if you were a liberal would you want to read Maureen Dowd or watch Keith Olbermann and be reminded every day of the fact that all the most brainless morons seem to be attracted to your cause?

So get out of the way and let this half-witt "Princess of Camelot" become the face of the Democrat party. And we should not grieve overmuch if the Democrats do manage to seat Franken in the US Senate. A man like Franken, who cannot conceal his true nature for long, being seated in an openly stolen election will do nothing to help the Democrat party in the long run.

Let them both become the new face of the Jackass party and 2010 will be a very good year indeed.

The first of many upcoming Clinton flashbacks

WASHINGTON (AP) - President-elect Barack Obama hasn't even stepped into office and already a scandal is threatening to dog him.

Obama isn't accused of anything. But the fact that Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a fellow Democrat, has been charged with trying to sell Obama's now-vacant Senate post gives political opponents an opening to try to link him to the scandal. A slew of questions remain. The investigation is still under way. And the ultimate impact on Obama is far from certain.

He pointedly distanced himself from the case Tuesday, saying, "I had no contact with the governor or his office, and so I was not aware of what was happening" concerning any possible dealing about Blagojevich's appointment of a successor.

Asked what contact he'd had with the governor's office about his replacement in the Senate, President-elect Obama today said "I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening."


Except that the little messiah's campaign manager, David Axelrod, told a different story - back before they knew that Blagojevich was about to be indicted. This from ABC News:

But on November 23, 2008, his senior adviser David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago and said something quite different.

While insisting that the President-elect had not expressed a favorite to replace him, and his inclination was to avoid being a "kingmaker," Axelrod said, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."

Of course now that it is at least embarrassing and possibly criminal to admit that you were taking part in the great Illinois Senate Auction of 2008 Axelrod has changed his story and said that he "misspoke".

The mainstream media is circling the wagons around the little messiah and are doing everything humanly possible to cement in the public's mind that "there is no evidence linking Obama to the scandal". However they are deliberately ignoring the extremely precise wording of US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald's statement in which he said that this indictment contained no accusations against the president-elect and that he couldn't say more at this time.

Clearly Mr. Fitzgerlad if leaving his options open as to what Mr. Obama might be charged with in the future.

Those who have predicted that an Obama presidency will be like a third term for Bill Clinton may be more right than they could have suspected.

Illinois Governor arrested, it's about damn time

Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich and his Chief of Staff, John Harris, were arrested today by FBI agents on federal corruption charges alleging that they and others are engaging in ongoing criminal activity: conspiring to obtain personal financial benefits for Blagojevich by leveraging his sole authority to appoint a United States Senator; threatening to withhold substantial state assistance to the Tribune Company in connection with the sale of Wrigley Field to induce the firing of Chicago Tribune editorial board members sharply critical of Blagojevich; and to obtain campaign contributions in exchange for official actions – both historically and now in a push before a new state ethics law takes effect January 1, 2009.

In other words typical Chicago/Illinois type politics. And it is from this sewer that our esteemed [cough] president-elect, none other than the little messiah himself - B. Hussein Obama, crawled.

And the stink of that corruption surrounds Hussein, it hovers around him like the stench of rotting garbage and taints everything with which he comes in contact.

The reason that his fellow Democrats didn't notice during the campaign was that their sense of smell was burned out by the stink of political purification which filled Washington during the eight years of the Clinton administration.

I could spin a wonderful fantasy about Obama stretching out his hand to put it on the Bible or Koran or whatever at his inauguration only to have an FBI agent snap a pair of handcuffs on it because a fearless US Attorney had followed the trail all the way back to the little messiah, but I won't.

One, because it will never happen. It's not that Obama isn't a criminal and doesn't deserve to go to jail, he does. An honest man or woman simply cannot be elected to office in Chicago today any more than a black woman could have been elected President of the United States in 1830. Sorry if anyone doesn't like the sound of that but it is absolutely and undeniably true.

Two, because if it did it would leave us with President Joe Biden and the less said about that the better.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The FBI is investigating whether the community activist group ACORN helped foster voter registration fraud around the nation before the presidential election. A senior law enforcement official confirmed the investigation to The Associated Press on Thursday.

A second senior law enforcement official says the FBI was looking at results of recent raids on ACORN offices in several states for any evidence of a coordinated national scam.

Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because Justice Department regulations forbid discussing ongoing investigations particularly so close to an election.

Like I said there is enough information out there to justify prosecuting ACORN under the RICO statutes.

Let us hope that everyone involved with their fraudulent voter registration efforts, up to and including B. Hussein Obama, becomes very familiar with our nation's federal prison system.

Palin E-mail hacker identified, maybe

MEMPHIS — State Rep. Mike Kernell declined Thursday to respond to online allegations that his son — a student at the University of Tennessee Knoxville — hacked into Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s personal e-mail account.

“My son’s the one in question, and I can’t comment on him,” said Kernell, a Memphis Democrat.

Bloggers have alleged that David Kernell, 20, is the one who has claimed responsibility for breaking into the Alaska governor’s e-mail account.

The evidence is tenuous. In fact, one of the first blogs to allege that the son of a Democratic politician was responsible relied on e-mail tips and described its evidence as “pretty thin.”

On Wednesday, however, the FBI and Secret Service launched an investigation that includes agents in Memphis. C.M. Sturgis, a spokesman for the Memphis FBI branch, confirmed late Thursday that his office is involved.

“All I can say is that a matter was referred to us from the Anchorage, Alaska, office. An investigation at this time is being coordinated out of FBI headquarters in the Department of Justice,” Sturgis said.

Also Wednesday, a person using the e-mail address

rubico10@yahoo.com posted a message to an online forum about how he used Yahoo Mail’s password-recovery tool to obtain Palin’s password.

“I am the lurker who did it, and I would like to tell the story,” rubico10@yahoo.com wrote on the Web site.

The hacker later explained how he reviewed Palin’s e-mail messages one by one: “I read though the emails … ALL OF THEM … before I posted, and what I concluded was anticlimactic, there was nothing there, nothing incriminating, nothing that would derail her campaign as I had hoped, all I saw was personal stuff, some clerical stuff from when she was governor. … And pictures of her family.”

First thing I would do is check the kid's bank account to see if there were any recent deposits from the DNC or the Obama campaign.

I'm not kidding. Barack Obama learned politics from Saul Alinsky's book Rules for Radicals, the first edition of which was dedicated to Satan -BTW. Therefore he views politics as a knife fight to the death in a sewer where the only rule is do whatever it takes to win.

He is entirely capable of ordering something like this.

Second I wonder why the kid posted the E-mails after he discovered that they were purely personal and contained nothing damaging to Governor Palin. If I hacked into Barack Obama's E-mail account and found that he was distributing child pornography I would shout it from the rooftops regardless of the personal cost but if all I found were family pictures and notes to his little girls I would not risk going to prison by posting them on the web.

The fact that he has a history of mental illness (otherwise known as a natural Democrat constituent) could explain much.

Obama's KGB makes an arrest in Denver

From ABC:

DENVER -- Police in Denver arrested an ABC News producer today as he and a camera crew were attempting to take pictures on a public sidewalk of Democratic senators and VIP donors leaving a private meeting at the Brown Palace Hotel.

Police on the scene refused to tell ABC lawyers the charges against the producer, Asa Eslocker, who works with the ABC News investigative unit.

A cigar-smoking Denver police sergeant, accompanied by a team of five other officers, first put his hands on Eslocker's neck, then twisted the producer's arm behind him to put on handcuffs.

A police official later told lawyers for ABC News that Eslocker is being charged with trespass, interference, and failure to follow a lawful order. He also said the arrest followed a signed complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel.

It was two hours later when Denver police arrived to place Eslocker under arrest, apparently based on a complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel, a central location for Democratic officials.

During the arrest, one of the officers can be heard saying to Eslocker, "You're lucky I didn't knock the f..k out of you."

Eslocker was released late today after posting $500 bond.

Eslocker and his ABC News colleagues are spending the week investigating the role of corporate lobbyists and wealthy donors at the convention for a series of Money Trail reports on ABC's "World News with Charles Gibson."

Add this to the Obama campaign's attempts to use legal means to force the McCain ad which draws attention to Obama's ties to terrorist William Ayers off the air and the Democrat party's burning desire to bring back the misnamed "fairness doctrine" for radio (and television and apparently the Internet as well), which would make it far too complex and risky for radio stations to continue carrying talk radio programs, and you see a clear pattern emerging.

The Democrat party cares no more for our First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and freedom of the press than they do for our Second Amendment rights to own and carry firearms.

They really are the party of Joseph Stalin.

There is also a lesson here for conservatives who tend to be reflexively pro police.

Any police department or individual police officer who will enforce one unconstitutional law or carry out one unconstitutional order will enforce any unconstitutional law or carry out any unconstitutional order.

Any cop who will carry out an illegal order to detain journalists who are just doing their jobs or enforce any unconstitutional gun control law (and they are all almost all unconstitutional) will also break into a newspaper office and smash the printing press then haul the reporters off to the Gulag. They will also break up church meetings and beat and even kill the worshipers. They will find out were the Jews are hiding and take them, and the Gentiles who are sheltering them, off to the "showers". They will capture runaway slaves and return them to their masters. They will stand at the polling place and inspect the ballots of every voter to see that they have dutifully placed an "X" in the box next to the name of the one apporved candidate for each office.

I repeat. Any police officer who will betray his oath to the constitution in one area will betray it in any area.

Another Democrat scandal - yawn

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Gov. Eliot Spitzer was not expected to continue as governor and may resign as soon as Monday night, sources told CBS 2 shortly after it was reported that he was linked to a prostitution ring.

Reliable sources initially told CBS 2 HD political reporter Marcia Kramer that Lt. Gov. David Paterson could be handed the job as early as Monday night, though other sources say the process could take up to 48 hours.

State Assemblyman James Tedisco (R-Schenectady) told CBS 2 that he spoke with Paterson earlier Monday evening and that the two discussed Paterson taking on a new role of leadership, leading Tedisco to believe that action was "forthcoming."

Tedisco stopped short of saying the move could happen Monday night.

However, Spitzer was clearly examining his legal options; a spokesman said the governor had retained the Manhattan law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind Wharton & Garrison, one of the nation's biggest.

The news of Spitzer's alleged transgression set off one of the largest scandals in modern New York state political history.

During a news conference Monday afternoon, Spitzer, 48, apologized to his family and the public, but did not go as far as to explain why. "I have acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family and violates my, or any, sense of right and wrong," he said in a brief statement. "I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself.

"I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family," he said alongside his wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, who was visibly upset as he spoke.

What do you expect? Democrats are as Democrats do. You do not become upset when a dog empties its bowls in the middle of the road and then walks away as if nothing happens do you?

Sid "Vicious" Blumenthal busted for DUI

NASHUA – A Clinton campaign adviser will skip arraignment on an aggravated driving while intoxicated charge and is scheduled to stand trial next month, Nashua District Court records show.

Sidney Blumenthal, 59, of Washington, D.C., was arrested after midnight Jan. 7, a day before the New Hampshire primary. Sgt. Michael Masella said he spotted Blumenthal’s rented Buick heading north on Concord Street in the area of Greeley Park, allegedly at about 70 miles an hour.

The speed limit on that stretch of road is 30 mph, and the alleged speed raised the charge to aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail, and a mandatory minimum of three days in jail and seven days in an alcohol treatment center.

Blumenthal served as an adviser to former President Clinton for several years and is working as a volunteer adviser to New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign. He had attended a campaign event in Nashua earlier that day.

I present this because it tickles me. Blumenthal is/was a Clinton insider and he will have to do some jail time so it just feels like justice.

New Orleans is a city firmly under the control of the left-wing Democrat Party and this is how the Left behaves when they think they can get away with it.

A federal court has ordered the city to return all the guns which were illegally confiscated, but the city has resisted doing this for over a year. The reason is simple. The guns are gone. Those which the police did not consider to be of any value were destroyed on the spot and those that were valuable were stolen by individual police officers.

I have heard that the word went out over the cop grapevine that the pickings in New Orleans were easy and that a large percentage of the cops who went to the city to "help" did so only to line their pockets.

What happened in New Orleans was vile and evil and I honestly wish that the citizens had risen up and exterminated these corrupt excuses for police who disgraced their uniforms by behaving like common armed robbers.

Bill Clinton was set to be the star attraction at the event at Scruggs’s Oxford, Miss., home. Hillary Clinton wasn’t scheduled to attend. It was the first event that Scruggs, who made a fortune suing the tobacco industry in the 1990s, had offered to host for Clinton, a campaign spokesman said. It was canceled on Wednesday, after the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided his home and the federal indictment was announced.

Know what the difference between him and other big-money donors to Democrat campaigns is?

WASHINGTON — One gift that Hillary Clinton is unlikely to enjoy on her 60th birthday Friday is the premiere of "Hillary Uncensored," a scathing documentary whose 13-minute trailer has been No. 1 on Google Video since Oct. 10, with more than 1.1 million views to date.

The film's first full-length showing is scheduled for Friday night at Harvard University, followed by viewings at universities through the weekend and a wrap Tuesday at the Metropolitan Club in New York City.

Among the allegations summarized in the documentary:

— Bill and Hillary Clinton solicited cash from Peter F. Paul, an international lawyer and businessman, even after Hillary Clinton's campaign manager told The Washington Post she would not take money from him;

— FBI agents and U.S. attorneys colluded with the Clintons to keep Paul, who was convicted of cocaine possession and fraud, tangled up in the criminal courts for years;

— The Clintons later made sure Paul was kept in a Brazilian prison for 25 months, including 58 days in a maximum security cellblock nicknamed the "Corridor of Death," while the Justice Department waited to extradite him;

— Hillary Clinton still hasn't filed reports to the FEC enumerating Paul's excessive contributions to her 2000 Senate campaign.

Clinton Co. a wholly owned subsidiary of the PRC

NEW YORK -- Something remarkable happened at 44 Henry St., a grimy Chinatown tenement with peeling walls. It also happened nearby at a dimly lighted apartment building with trash bins clustered by the front door.

And again not too far away, at 88 E. Broadway beneath the Manhattan bridge, where vendors chatter in Mandarin and Fujianese as they hawk rubber sandals and bargain-basement clothes.

All three locations, along with scores of others scattered throughout some of the poorest Chinese neighborhoods in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, have been swept by an extraordinary impulse to shower money on one particular presidential candidate -- Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Dishwashers, waiters and others whose jobs and dilapidated home addresses seem to make them unpromising targets for political fundraisers are pouring $1,000 and $2,000 contributions into Clinton's campaign treasury. In April, a single fundraiser in an area long known for its gritty urban poverty yielded a whopping $380,000. When Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) ran for president in 2004, he received $24,000 from Chinatown.

At this point in the presidential campaign cycle, Clinton has raised more money than any candidate in history. Those dishwashers, waiters and street stall hawkers are part of the reason. And Clinton's success in gathering money from Chinatown's least-affluent residents stems from a two-pronged strategy: mutually beneficial alliances with powerful groups, and appeals to the hopes and dreams of people now consigned to the margins.

Clinton has enlisted the aid of Chinese neighborhood associations, especially those representing recent immigrants from Fujian province. The organizations, at least one of which is a descendant of Chinatown criminal enterprises that engaged in gambling and human trafficking, exert enormous influence over immigrants. The associations help them with everything from protection against crime to obtaining green cards.

Many of Clinton's Chinatown donors said they had contributed because leaders in neighborhood associations told them to. In some cases, donors said they felt pressure to give.

The other piece of the strategy involves holding out hope that, if Clinton becomes president, she will move quickly to reunite families and help illegal residents move toward citizenship. As New York's junior senator, Clinton has expressed support for immigrants and greater family reunification. She is also benefiting from Chinese donors' naive notions of what she could do in the White House.

Campaign concerns

As with other campaigns looking for dollars in unpromising places, the Clinton operation also has accepted what it later conceded were improper donations. At least one reported donor denies making a contribution. Another admitted to lacking the legal-resident status required for giving campaign money.

Clinton aides said they were concerned about some of the Chinatown contributions.

"We have hundreds of thousands of donors. We are proud to have support from across New York and the country from many different communities," campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson said. "In this instance, our own compliance process flagged a number of questionable donations and took the appropriate steps to be sure they were legally given. In cases where we couldn't confirm that, the money was returned."

The Times examined the cases of more than 150 donors who provided checks to Clinton after fundraising events geared to the Chinese community. One-third of those donors could not be found using property, telephone or business records. Most have not registered to vote, according to public records.

And several dozen were described in financial reports as holding jobs -- including dishwasher, server or chef -- that would normally make it difficult to donate amounts ranging from $500 to the legal maximum of $2,300 per election.

Of 74 residents of New York's Chinatown, Flushing, the Bronx or Brooklyn that The Times called or visited, only 24 could be reached for comment.

Many said they gave to Clinton because they were instructed to do so by local association leaders. . .

After five years in power, President Hu Jintao has finally gained unquestioned control of China's massive military while transforming it into wealthy, high-tech fighting force, analysts said.

"It looks like he has full control over personnel now. He has continued to raise the military budget and will continue that. He's well established in power now," said Arthur Ding, a Chinese military expert at Singapore's Nanyang Technology University.

Hu's military priorities were shown in the selection of General Chen Bingde as general chief of staff, observers said.

Chen previously directed the unit that controlled the country's fast-developing space programme, and was a top commander of eastern China forces viewed as crucial to a potential conflict with Taiwan. [And we know where they got the technology to do all that modernizing, don't we]

"(Chen's selection) was a tough signal to Taiwan and it emphasises the military's modernisation in the high-tech era," said Cheng Li, a scholar with the US Brookings Institution.

Hu's predecessor, Jiang Zemin, upped spending to lift the PLA from a backward, bloated force to a modern military, and Hu has taken the baton with gusto.

The armed forces received 45 billion dollars in funding this year, an annual 17.8 percent increase and Hu has promised more in future years.

The spending [spending like on contributions to the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor] has opened new high-tech vistas for the former peasant force.

Last year it unveiled an advanced new homegrown fighter and in January made China only the third country to successfully test a satellite-killer missile, among other new high-tech toys. [Thank you Billy Blowjob]

"China's technology level is still below that of the United States and Europe [But not for long, if they can just get Hillary elected], but they are making steady progress," said Kevin Pollpeter, a China military expert at the US-based Centre for Intelligence Research and Analysis.

We really want Mrs. Bill Clinton in the White House come next year.

Hsu lives, somebody screwed up

Fugitive political fundraiser Norman Hsu was behaving erratically as he fled the Bay Area on Amtrak's California Zephyr, at one point stripping off his shirt and shoes, before paramedics were called to take him off the train in western Colorado, passengers said Friday.

Hsu, 56, on the run for the second time from a 1992 grand theft conviction in San Mateo County, was arrested Thursday after the paramedics took him to a hospital from the train station in Grand Junction, Colo. A spokesman at St. Mary's Hospital said Friday night that Hsu was in fair condition but would not say what was wrong with him.

Hsu boarded the train in Emeryville about 7 a.m. Wednesday, Amtrak said, two hours before he was to have appeared in a Redwood City courtroom in connection with his grand theft conviction. He had touched down earlier that morning on a charter jet flight to Oakland, his lawyer told prosecutors. Amtrak said he boarded the Zephyr with a ticket for Denver.

Passengers interviewed Friday when the Zephyr reached its final destination of Chicago said it appeared that something was wrong with Hsu.

Alberto Dee, 21, who boarded the train in Truckee, said Hsu "freaked out" when Amtrak personnel approached, and was roaming a train car "without shoes and no shirt. ... I thought he had a suitcase full of crack or meth."

Another passenger disembarking in Chicago, who declined to give his name, said Hsu appeared disoriented and was having trouble opening a door on the train. Several other passengers said they were told Hsu was behaving oddly but did not witness it themselves.

There are many possible explanations where the Clintons and the Red Chinese are involved. The most likely are a botched suicide attempt and a botched homicide attempt. If it was the Chinese he was told to "do the right thing" or his family back in Hong Kong would be "dealt with". If it was Hillary Hsu was told to make contact with someone on the train who would give him money and false documents so that he could safly flee the country and instead he got a dose of poison.

At least the Chinese will have to keep his family alive now for leverage.
