Charges filed in school bus beating

From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's website:

BELLEVILLE -- Two Belleville West High School students were charged under the juvenile code today with felony counts of aggravated battery stemming from the violent beating of a 17-year-old student on a school bus earlier this week.

The incident grabbed national headlines and incited a heated debate about race when police said the incident, involving a white victim and black assailants, may have been racially motivated. They later recanted that claim.

The two teenagers—who are 14 and 15 years-old—were charged as juveniles because they are under the age of 17. Illinois law shields the disclosure of their names because they are minors.

Juvenile courts are more informal and private than adult courts. Juvenile court records are not available to the general public.

Robert Haida, the St. Clair County state's attorney, said Illinois law does not permit him to charge the teens in adult court. The law mandates that a minor can be charged in adult court only if the case involves certain crimes, such as murder, aggravated criminal sexual assault, or armed robbery with a firearm.

Warrants were issued for the defendants' immediate arrest. They had been in custody earlier but released pending investigation.

On the issue of a hate crime, Haida said: “No evidence is present to suggest that the motive for the conduct was the race of the victim. Illinois law requires such evidence in order to support that charge. Illinois law is clear that the fact that a defendant and a victim are of different races is insufficient without more evidence to support a hate crime.”

Both students have been suspended from school and could face expulsion.

Belleville police released video of the Monday morning incident and labeled it “racially motivated.” Later, a department spokesman said his initial comments were “personal and emotional” and not accurate.

"The incident appears now to be more about a couple of bullies on a bus dictating where people sit,” said Capt. Don Sax.

The video depicted a violent attack after a 17-year-old student walked onto the bus and looked for a seat, but was apparently refused. He then took a seat next to one of his attackers, who lashed out with a series of punches to the victim's head. At one point, the attacker held the victim by the neck with one hand, while he punched his face with the other.

Another attack ensued a few minutes later, and was eventually halted by another student.

As someone who believes that criminals should be judged on what they have done rather than what they were thinking about when they did it I could care less why these two thugs beat another student who had done nothing to provoke their aggression.

However since the political left has done everything in its power - and largely been successful - in turning America into a race obsessed nation and since I know that if it had been a black student beaten by whites that there is no way that the race industry would ever acknowledge any other motive than racism (regardless of any conceivable proof that it wasn't) I feel compelled to ask a couple of questions.

One, why didn't bully no. 1 want the white student sitting next to him? Could it have had anything to do with the fact that he was white?

Two, why does it seem that the other black students on the bus are so happy to see the white student being beaten? Could it be that fact that he is white? If not then what other reason, do they simply enjoy seeing innocent people attacked?

Again I really don't care what their motives were. They committed a crime of violence and they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But I do find it interesting that the police and the mainstream media are so quick to move heaven and earth to assure everyone that the attack had no racial component when I know that if it had been white on black violence that would not be happening.

More thoughs on Preachergate

During this entire "poison preacher" scandal I've been exasperated not so much by what Jeremiah Wright said but by the stunned and shocked reaction to it from so many people on the right. Did these people not know that the majority of black people in this nation believe lunatic conspiracy theories about how the "white people" want to exterminate them?

Has everyone forgotten how frequently rumors about how some consumer product has a chemical in it which will "make black men sterile" burn their way through the black community? [Reference here, here and here]

In her last column Ann Coulter wrote about how the left patronizes, and therefore infantalizes, black Americans by ignoring or excusing their bad behavior:

We treat blacks like children, constantly talking about their temper tantrums right in front of them with airy phrases about black anger. I will not pat blacks on the head and say, "Isn't that cute?" As a post-racial American, I do not believe "the legacy of slavery" gives black people the right to be permanently ill-mannered.

But it would appear that a great many on the right are willing to do essentially the same thing. By expressing shock at Wright's hateful sermons and acting as though they are some kind of freakish aberration within the black community people like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are doing a disservice to their listeners and to the nation as a whole.

Black people's voluntary self-segregation into an insulated "community" under "leaders" whose self interest is tied up with keeping blacks isolated, insulated, paranoid and poor turns the "race problem" in the US into a malignant tumor endangering our culture.

This all benefits the Democrat party' elected leaders (if you doubt that the majority of blacks are taught from birth to hate this nation consider the fact that around 90% of them routinely vote for the hate America/blame America political party) but it does so at the expense of everyone else.

If you don't know that any predominantly black church in a large city like Chicago is more than likely going to have a pastor like Jeremiah Wright then learn it. If you do know that fact then don't pretend otherwise and do not be afraid to say so.

When my mother and her sister got back from their last trip to France (this was at least six years ago) they told me that one of the first things that that noticed was that the great majority of the French people had stopped stinking. It seems that they became tired of being made fun of by the citizens of other civilized nations for seldom bathing and using deodorant and cologne to mask the body odor so they started using soap and water on a regular basis.

If the French can be induced to reform an attitude toward cleanliness which had remained largely unchanged since the Dark Ages then American blacks can be shamed into abandoning paranoid conspiracy theories and reflexive anger at the greater culture. The can also learn to stop filling their church pulpits with crazy as a shithouse rat demagogues like Jeremiah Wright.

BTY, I say this not from hatred of Mr. Wright. Given the fact that Mr. Wright obviously has as much European DNA as African and that the name Wright is a recognized sept of Clan McIntyre there is a decent chance that he and I are related.

Black vs Brown in '08

Bob Novak looks at Clinton's risky strategy:

LOS ANGELES -- Sen. Hillary Clinton is relying on the big Latino vote as her firewall to prevent losing the California Democratic primary Feb. 5, the most important of 22 states contested on Mega Tuesday. But that reliance, say both pro-Clinton and anti-Clinton Democrats, is fraught with peril for the Democratic Party's coalition by threatening to alienate its essential African-American component.

Clinton's double-digit lead in
California polls over Sen. Barack Obama is misleading. Subtract a Latino voting bloc whose dependability to show up Election Day always has been shaky, and Clinton is no better than even in the state, with Obama gaining. To encourage this brown firewall, the Clinton campaign may be drifting into encouragement of brown vs. black racial conflict by condoning Latino racial hostility to the first African-American with a chance to become president.

[. . .]

Experienced California Democratic politicians doubt the validity of Clinton's double-digit polling lead in the state. At the heart of Obama's support are upper-income Democrats (in exceptional supply here) and young voters whose intentions are difficult to predict. Will the state's huge, currently passive college campuses erupt in an outpouring of Obama voters?

Another problem for pollsters is a California peculiarity. A registered independent who shows up at a polling place Feb. 5 and asks for a Republican ballot will be told, sorry, but the Republican primary is for registered Republicans only. But the voter then may take a ballot of the more permissive Democratic Party. How many will do this and then vote for Obama? The polls cannot predict.

Clinton's 39 percent against Obama's 27 percent in California's Field Poll released last week provides much less certainty than a 12-percentage margin normally would. With Clinton falling and Obama rising, it compares with her 40-point lead six months ago.

The demographics are most important. Clinton has dramatically lost support among blacks, trailing Obama 58 percent to 24 percent. It is a virtual dead heat among white non-Hispanics, 32 percent to 30 percent. Therefore, the 12-point overall lead derives from a 59 percent to 19 percent Clinton edge among Latinos.

In California, the Latino vote is notoriously undependable in actually voting, especially when compared with African-Americans. How the Clinton campaign deals with Hispanic voters is a sensitive matter, but sensitivity never has been a hallmark of the Clinton style.

Insensitivity was reflected in a recent issue of the New Yorker, when Clinton's veteran Latino political operative Sergio Bendixen was quoted as saying, "The Hispanic voter -- and I want to say this very carefully -- has not shown a lot of willingness to support black candidates."

That brief quote from an obscure politician has generated shock and awe in Democratic circles. It comes close to validating the concern that the Clinton campaign is not only relying on a brown firewall built on an anti-black base, but is reinforcing it. A prominent Democrat who has not picked a candidate this year told me, "In any campaign I have been involved in, Bendixen would have been gone."

But not in Hillary Clinton's. During the Jan. 15 debate prior to the Nevada caucuses, where the Latino vote was important, NBC's Tim Russert read the Bendixen quote and asked Clinton, "Does that represent the view of your campaign?" Her response was chilling: "No, he was making a historical statement."

Consider the above in the context of this article by Steven Malanga which is up on Front Page Magazine:

Terry Anderson is angry. From his KRLA-AM radio perch in Los Angeles, the black talk-show host thunders, “I have gone on the streets and talked to people at random here in the black community, and they all ask me the same question: ‘Why are our politicians and leaders letting this happen?’ ” What’s got Anderson—motto: “If You Ain’t Mad, You Ain’t Payin’ Attention”—so worked up isn’t the Jena Six or nooses on Columbia University doorknobs; it’s the illegal immigrants who allegedly murdered three Newark college students last August. And when he excoriates politicians for “letting this happen,” he’s directing his fire at Congressional Black Caucus members who support open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens. “Massive illegal immigration has been devastating to my community,” Anderson, a former auto mechanic and longtime South Central Los Angeles resident, tells listeners. “Black Americans are hit the hardest.”

Though blacks have long worried that the country’s growing foreign-born population, especially its swelling rolls of illegal immigrants, harmed their economic prospects, they have also followed their political leadership in backing liberal immigration policies. Now, however, as new waves of immigration inundate historically African-American neighborhoods, black opinion is hardening against the influx. “We will not lay down and take this any longer,” says Anderson. If he’s right, it could upend the political calculus on immigration.

Democrats in general and the Clintons in particular are banking on black stupidity to win them the upcoming election. There has only been one brief period in the entire history of the Democrat Party when it had the genuine best interests of black Americans in its heart. That was when the original civil rights legislation which ended Jim Crow was passed (and then Democrats weren't united on the issue). At all other times whether it was before the Civil War when Democrats supported slavery or after the Civil War when Democrats were supporting segregation to the latter phase of the Civil Rights Movement when Democrats were supporting the welfare laws which destroyed the black family and turned the inner city black neighborhoods into hell-holes of crime, drugs and violence the Democrat Party has preyed upon the black community like a malignant parasite.

It may be that now, as last, blacks are beginning to wake up to the fact that their so-called "leaders" are for the most part whores bought and paid for by the white left-wing power structure. Men and women who sell out their people for a place at the Democrat table of power.

Don't expect a great deal of movement in black voting patters at first. Blacks in America have been raised from birth to believe that America is a structurally racist country and that the Republican Party is the equivalent of the Ku Klux Klan. They have been taught everywhere from the politician's soap box to the minister's pulpit that black's only hope for survival in the US is to elect Democrats.

It is hard to break that kind of conditioning, but it is possible. If just 20% of the blacks who currently turn out to vote for Democrats in presidential elections were just to stay home on election day it would be impossible for a Democrat to be elected president. That is unless the left gets an amnesty bill passed and floods the electorate with tens of millions of new Democrat voters.

About what you'd expect

From The Baltimore Sun:

A firefighter who reported finding a knotted rope and a threatening note with a drawing of a noose in an East Baltimore station house last month had placed the items there himself, city officials said yesterday.

The man was suspended last week for performance-related issues and will likely face additional punishment, fire officials said. Sterling Clifford, a spokesman for the Police Department and for Mayor Sheila Dixon, said the man admitted to the hoax and will not face criminal charges.

Officials identified the firefighter who they say acknowledged writing the note as Donald Maynard, a firefighter-paramedic apprentice who is black. Maynard could not be reached for comment.

The rope incident sparked outrage two weeks ago and prompted a federal investigation into possible civil rights violations. It was the latest in a series of incidents that have cast the Fire Department in a poor light over the past year, including the death of a recruit in a training exercise and accusations of racism.

The news of the hoax came a day after a report released by the city's inspector general found that the top performers on two recent Fire Department promotions exams likely cheated amid lapses in testing security.

A black firefighters group had called accusations of cheating racially motivated after union officials questioned the test scores. But the investigation found that five African-American firefighters had studied by using a 2001 exam, which is against test protocol.

On Nov. 21, a handwritten note and a rope were discovered about 1:30 a.m. by two Fire Department employees - one black and one white. It read, "We cant [sic] hang the cheaters but we can hang the failures. NO EMT-I, NO JOB." A small stick figure with a noose and the word "Stop" were drawn below the message.

The note appeared to refer to the cheating investigation and a push by top fire officials to compel emergency medical technicians to become certified as paramedics. Maynard was among those whose jobs were at risk.

In a written statement yesterday, Fire Chief William J. Goodwin Jr. said Maynard had admitted to "conducting a scheme meant to create the perception that members within our department were acting in a discriminatory and unprofessional manner."

"If the department upon investigation found Mr. Maynard's alleged claims to be factual, I would have acted swiftly and severely," said Goodwin, who said last month he would step down at the end of the year. "I will do the same thing regarding Mr. Maynard's unfortunate act of misconduct."

Kevin Cartwright, a spokesman for the Fire Department, said that Maynard's punishment had not been determined but that he could be fired.

Clifford, the spokesman for Dixon, said she was "pleased to find out that, in fact, there wasn't a threat of that nature made at the firehouse." He said the mayor is disappointed in the firefighter.

"It's a terrible thing to be worried that firefighters are treating each other that way, and it's good to know they're not," he said.

Yesterday, the leaders of the two city fire unions denounced Dixon, whose initial reaction to the reported incident was to deplore what she called "an act of hatred and intimidation."

Stephan G. Fugate, head of the city fire officers union, said Dixon's reaction contributed to racial tensions. He said members of the community became hostile toward firefighters after the mayor "came out and, in effect, said racism is running rampant."

Union leaders also criticized the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the Vulcan Blazers, a group that represents black firefighters, saying they, too, provoked racial tension by rushing to judgment.

"To put it mildly, this time we're not going to let it go," said Fugate. "The reaction from the NAACP, the mayor and the Vulcan Blazers was sickening, and we're going to demand an apology."

This isn't going to surprise too many people, at least people not registered Democrat. The fact is that most of the time these incidents turn out to be hoaxes perpetrated by the supposed victim in order to generate sympathy and provide an excuse for outrage.

What is at least a little bit new is the reaction of the president of the NAACP's local chapter:

But Marvin L. "Doc" Cheatham, president of the NAACP's Baltimore chapter, said the fact that such an incident could occur shows that pervasive racial problems persist in the department.

"It really saddens us to hear that evidently things have reached a stage that even an African-American does an injustice to himself and his own people as a result of a negative culture in that department," Cheatham said when asked to respond to the unions.

Yes, the black fireman lied and created a fraudulent racial incident because he was the victim of racism. About all you can do in response to this kind of "Alice in Wonderland" reasoning it to wonder where the Queen of Hearts is when you need her.

Of course some parts of the Baltimore race industry still have enough humanity left to feel shame:

Henry Burris, president of the Vulcan Blazers, when informed that the incident was a hoax, said, "I'm extremely upset, as well as hurt. I believed the person who told me [that the incident was legitimate] was telling the truth."

The real motive behind the hoax turns out to be rather mundane:

Fugate said Maynard had been with the department for about six years. The union leader said that that is well beyond the time for an apprentice to have advanced to a more skilled classification.

Because most of the calls for service in the city are medical calls, the department now hires only paramedics who are trained to provide a higher level of care. Goodwin had said that those who had not gained their paramedic certification were "on the bubble" in regard to keeping their jobs.

Maybe the NAACP feels that kicking people to the curb when they prove unable to do their jobs even after having been given six years to learn meets some kind of definition of racism. If so they need to get a new dictionary.

Knowing your real enemy

There's a good article in the Washington Post today about the Republican Party's efforts to win support among black evangelicals.

Pastor Harry R. Jackson Jr. will often exhort his congregation to "stand against" abortion and same-sex marriage. "You are on the battlefield in a culture war," he'll say, urging his listeners to help serve as the "moral compass of America."

In his rhetoric and his political agenda, Jackson has much in common with other evangelical Christians who are part of the conservative wing of the Republican party, except that Jackson is African American and so is his congregation at Hope Christian Church in Prince George's County.

Jackson, head of a group of socially conservative black pastors called the High Impact Leadership Coalition, in many ways personifies the possibilities that Republican strategists such as Karl Rove have seen in appealing to the social conservatism of many African American churchgoers. Blacks overwhelmingly identify themselves as Democrats and typically support Democratic candidates, but optimists in the GOP think one way to become a majority party is to peel off a sizable segment of black voters by finding common ground on social issues.

As a group, blacks attend religious services more frequently than whites and are less supportive of gay rights. In a Washington Post-Kaiser Family Foundation-Harvard University poll this summer, 43 percent of white Democrats supported same-sex marriage, about double the percentage of black Democrats who said they do. More than half of blacks said they oppose both same-sex marriage and legal recognition of same-sex civil unions.

In the 2004 election, there was evidence that an appeal aimed at those differences could work. President Bush nearly doubled his share of the black vote in Ohio, thanks to a same-sex-marriage initiative on the ballot and the targeting of black churchgoers through mailings and radio ads. But it's unlikely that the 2008 Republican presidential candidate will be able to consolidate those gains, and Jackson is one indication of why.

During the last presidential election cycle, Jackson prayed for Bush and crisscrossed the country pressing conservative social issues. Now he's pushing an issues agenda rather than "carrying the water for the Republican party," he said. "They are not reliable enough."

Jackson's discontent is a reflection of the worries of other religious conservatives, black and white, who fear that Republican voters will nominate pro-choice candidate and former New York mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani and are still chafing at the headline-grabbing sex and ethics scandals involving Republicans.

"You don't have someone who is a Christian evangelical like Bush to really revitalize the black evangelicals this time around," said John C. Green, senior fellow at the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life. Bush promised colorblind appointments and launched the faith-based initiative, and the timing of his run coincided with several state ballot initiatives banning same-sex marriage that turned out large numbers of evangelicals, Green said. The Republicans running this year have not made the same appeal.

Other conservative black preachers raise a different issue.

"Morality is different in terms of the way we see it and white evangelicals see it," said Pastor Lyle Dukes of Harvest Life Changers Church in Woodbridge, a member of Jackson's group who supported Bush in 2004. "What we think is moral is not only the defense of marriage, but we also think equal education is a moral issue. We think discrimination is immoral."

Dukes is looking at candidates in both parties this year.

Bishop Timothy J. Clarke, leader of the 5,000-member First Church of God in Columbus, Ohio, said: "You have to prioritize. You are dealing with a less-than-perfect world and a less-than-perfect system."

Clarke has worked with Jackson's coalition but also hosted Democratic presidential candidates in 2004. He said he and his members care as much about health care and livable wages as they do about conservative social issues.

On his way out of the noon Bible study at Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in the District the other day, Stephen Peagler, 27, said he is a faithful churchgoer who believes that abortion and same-sex marriage are wrong. But, he said, when it comes to voting, he's looking for a candidate who will address issues that are more relevant in his everyday life. And Democrats are more likely to deal with the high incarceration rates of black men and underperforming inner-city schools, he said.

The greatest problem facing Republicans in trying to make inroads into the black community is the tendency of blacks to see any inequality which reflects poorly on blacks to be the result of some kind of structural racism which is embedded so deeply into American society that it is all but ineradicable. Further they believe that this racism threatens the very survival of black people in America and that the only way to hold this racism at bay is through massive government intervention.

Thus when black men are seen to make up the majority of the population in the nation's prisons it must be because the criminal justice system is racist rather than the truth which is that black men are the ones committing most of the crimes. If inner-city schools are underperforming it must be because the racist white city government is keeping them starved for resources rather than the truth which is that all too many black families in the inner-city don't teach their children to value education, don't supervise their children adequately and don't maintain the kind of stable home life which helps send a child to school ready to learn.

A high crime rate in the inner-city is seen is seen by blacks as proof that the racist government doesn't care about them yet effective law enforcement measures will always wind up arresting large numbers of black men because they are the ones committing the vast majority of crimes. This arresting of black men will be attacked as racism on the part of the police and the courts by the same "leaders" who were before denouncing the high crime rate as proof of racism.

Whites stand back and shake their heads (well white conservatives do, white leftists see an opportunity to pander for votes) and wonder if there's something in the water. But the answer is relatively simple. Blacks learned the wrong lesson from the civil rights movement.

What the civil rights movement originally came together to oppose was the racist laws in the Southeast which mandated racial segregation in both the public and private sphere. Not only were local governments required to provide separate schools for black and white students but private businesses were required to provide "separate but equal" facilities for black and white patrons.

After a great deal of struggle and sacrifice those laws were overturned at the federal level. The lesson too many black people learned was that government action can make there lives better. The real lesson should have been that the Jim Crow laws were a government intrusion into the lives of the citizenry which made people's lives worse therefore government intrusions are bad and must be opposed.

As a result of learning that wrong lesson blacks have sought one government intrusion after another and have paid a horrible price for it. Before all the laws and government programs which were to "help" blacks the black illegitimacy rate was only a little higher than it was for whites. Now it approaches 70%. In fact outside of the Jim Crow South (where government was intruding with the segregation laws) blacks were making astounding progress in areas like home ownership, personal income and business ownership. It may be hard for some people to believe but black progress from the end of the Civil War till the beginning of the Civil Rights era was actually greater than it has been since the beginning of the Civil Rights era (again, outside of the Jim Crow South were government was intruding).

In virtually every area where the black community is in trouble, the destruction of the black family, the rising illegitimacy rate, crime, drugs and failing schools the blame can be laid squarely at the feet of government policies which were supported by black leaders and still have broad support within the black community.

Can these black pastors really be serious when they call for turning over the nations health care system to the same kind of people who turned his children's school into a place where students get straight A's for just showing up and not threatening the teacher and every day is counted a success if the kid is able to get through it without being shot, knifed, raped or addicted to crack?

With all due respect to by black brothers and sisters in Christ, GOVERNMENT IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. DEMOCRATS ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. Democrats want you to stay exactly where you are right now. Poor and dependant upon their handouts. They don't want your schools to educate your children so that black students won't be able to get into college without affirmative action so that black college graduates won't be able to get jobs in business or government without affirmative action so that affluent black professionals will feel that they owe their positions not to their own ability but to a government handout so that they will continue to vote Democrat.

Democrats want most black children to be born to single mothers who are on public assistance so that they will grow up thinking of government as their father. They want those single black mothers to feel that their lives and the lives of their children literally depend upon a check from the government. Just like they want old people to think that the only thing between them and eating dog food, or freezing to death on the street, is their government check. This guarantees that they will keep voting for the people who sign that check.

Just because the chains aren't made of steel and you can't feel their weight on your hands and feet doesn't mean they aren't there.

And a note to the Republican Party. If just 20% of the black population could be weaned off of dependence upon government and persuaded to vote Republican there would never again be a Democrat controlled House, Senate or White House. It will not help to nominate a presidential candidate who spits on the moral issues where blacks and Republicans already agree.

Were the Duke lacrosse players busy

Or didn't you want to meet any genuine victims of racism?

From The Town Talk:

Two of the teens enmeshed in the nationally known "Jena Six" case helped present the most anticipated award during Black Entertainment Television's Hip Hop Awards show broadcast Thursday night.

Carwin Jones and Bryant Purvis were introduced by Katt Williams, a comedian and the awards show's host, as two of the students involved in a case of "systematic racism."

"By no means are we condoning a six-on-one beat-down," Williams said during his introduction of the teens, one of whom is still facing attempted murder charges in connection with the attack on white student Justin Barker. "... But the injustice perpetrated on these young men is straight criminal."

As Jones and Purvis walked onto the stage at the Atlanta Civic Center, where the awards show was filmed on Saturday, they were greeted by a standing ovation.

Sorry Katt, but when you give these thugs the honor of being presenters in an awards show you are condoning their actions.

Of course it is an awards show for Hip Hop and I guess they know their audience.

Racism - Not just in America any more

From The Scotsman:

DUNOON is a rarity among rural Scottish communities. The presence of a US naval base at Holy Loch during the Cold War accounts for most of the black people living in the town.

So Paul Omoniyi, a born and bred Scot of Nigerian parentage, might have expected a warmer welcome when he travelled to the Cowal peninsula on October 2, 2005, with his under-13s Bishopbriggs boys' team West Park United.

The 11-year-old was excited about making an impression for a team he had joined only two months earlier, and hoped it would help him realise his dream of becoming a professional footballer like his brother.

In the stand at Cowal Stadium that day, there was a crowd to watch the Scottish Youth Club Association (SYCA) league match, made up of players from the under-14s Dunoon team who had played earlier.

A few minutes after kick off, Paul got his first touch of the ball - and was promptly greeted by monkey chants from the stand. "I heard the first monkey chant and I did feel hurt and wanted to do something," said Paul. "I was going to speak to the referee at half-time but when it happened again, he put the boys doing it out. He came up and said how sorry he was about it."

The referee that afternoon was Ian Cunning, a local man who shared the training facilities with various Dunoon teams. "I thought my ears must have been deceiving me, so I played on," he said. A minute later, Paul sent the ball for a corner and even louder monkey chants pierced the air. "I was absolutely raging and held up play, ran from the field to order the boys in the stand out of the park, and told them in no uncertain terms their behaviour was appalling."

West Park coach Martin Rafferty said: "I was bemused when I heard the first chanting. The referee came over to me and said: 'Am I hearing things?' 'Depends on what you are listening to?' I replied. 'If it is noises coming from the stand then you are hearing monkey chants.' A brief time later, no one could be in any doubts that there were monkey chants coming from that part of the ground and that was why the referee went through the boys who were making them and sent them out."

Nowhere in the article is "monkey chant" defined. I guess that the monkey chant is so well known in Scotland that everyone just knows what it sounds like. Sort of like blowing a razzberry or flipping someone off need no definition in America.

The Truth of Interracial Rape

On today's Front Page Magazine Lawrence Auster violates one of the most sacred taboos of the modern left. He tells the truth about a matter of race:

Like Ahab's search for the Great White Whale, liberals' search for the Great White Defendant is relentless and never-ending. When, in 1988, Tawana Brawley's and Al Sharpton's then year-old spectacular charge that several white men including prosecutor Steven Pagones (whose name Brawley had picked out of a newspaper article) had abducted and raped the 15 year old was shown to be completely false, the Nation said it didn't matter, since the charges expressed the essential nature of white men's treatment of black women in this country. When the Duke University lacrosse players were accused of raping a black stripper last year, liberals everywhere treated the accusation as fact, because, just as with the Nation and Tawana Brawley, the rape charge seemed to the minds of liberals to reflect the true nature of oppressive racial and sexual relations in America.

To see the real truth of the matter, let us take a look at the Department of Justice document Criminal Victimization in the United States, 2005. (Go to the linked document, and under "Victims and Offenders" download the pdf file for 2005.)

In Table 42, entitled "Personal crimes of violence, 2005, percent distribution of single-offender victimizations, based on race of victims, by type of crime and perceived race of offender," we learn that there were 111,590 white victims and 36,620 black victims of rape or sexual assault in 2005. (The number of rapes is not distinguished from those of sexual assaults; it is maddening that sexual assault, an ill-defined category that covers various types of criminal acts ranging from penetration to inappropriate touching, is conflated with the more specific crime of rape.) In the 111,590 cases in which the victim of rape or sexual assault was white, 44.5 percent of the offenders were white, and 33.6 percent of the offenders were black. In the 36,620 cases in which the victim of rape or sexual assault was black, 100 percent of the offenders were black, and 0.0 percent of the offenders were white. The table explains that 0.0 percent means that there were under 10 incidents nationally.

The table does not gives statistics for Hispanic victims and offenders. But the bottom line on interracial white/black and black/white rape is clear:

In the United States in 2005, 37,460 white females were sexually assaulted or raped by a black man, while between zero and ten black females were sexually assaulted or raped by a white man.

What this means is that every day in the United States, over one hundred white women are raped or sexually assaulted by a black man.

The Department of Justice statistics refer, of course, to verified reports. According to the Wikipedia article on rape, as many as half of all rape charges nationally are determined by police and prosecutors to be false:

Linda Fairstein, former head of the New York County District Attorney's Sex Crimes Unit, noted, "There are about 4,000 reports of rape each year in Manhattan. Of these, about half simply did not happen.... It's my job to bring justice to the man who has been falsely accused by a woman who has a grudge against him, just as it's my job to prosecute the real thing."

No wonder there was such absolute belief in the guilt of the Duke students among the leading sectors of liberal America. A drug-addled, half-deranged, promiscuous black stripper accused three young white men of raping her. There are virtually zero rapes of black women by white men in the United States, and half of all rape charges against specific individuals turn out to be false. But in the gnostic, inverted world of liberal demonology, the white students had to be guilty.

One thing I would note is that while about half of all rape accusations are false I would guess that nearly that number of real rapes go unreported.

Anybody seen Al?

From KnoxNews:

They wanted the 4-Runner but wound up taking the lives of a young Knox County couple in brutal fashion, court records made public Friday reveal.

"Originally the plan was to do a carjacking," a pal of fatal carjacking suspect Lemaricus Devall Davidson told a federal agent.

It's still not clear why the alleged carjacking confrontation between Channon Christian, 21, her boyfriend, Christopher Newsom, 23, and brothers Davidson and Letalvis Darnell Cobbins turned fatal.

It's not even known yet where the deadly encounter began.

But it ended early Sunday morning in a seedy rental house on Chipman Street, where Christian and Newsom were forced inside at gunpoint, according to state and federal court records.

Newsom was shot, bound and his body wrapped up in bedding and set afire, according to a search warrant application drafted by Knoxville Police Department Investigator Todd Childress.

Police would find his body later that day discarded like trash along nearby railroad tracks. Two days passed before Christian's battered body was found stuffed in a trash can in the Chipman Street house where, records show, Davidson and Cobbins had been living.

Although Western Kentucky Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Rich Knighten told the News Sentinel that Christian had been held captive for "a couple of days," records unsealed by U.S. District Magistrate Judge Clifford Shirley at a hearing in Knoxville Friday suggest otherwise.

Complaints prepared by a team of federal agents and prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney's Office, including Tracy Stone, David Jennings, Steve Cook, Mike Winck and Tracee Plowell, indicate that Christian likely was dead by Sunday evening.

And Davidson was ready to run, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Agent Rebecca A. Bobich wrote in an affidavit in which serial robber and Knoxville resident Eric Dewayne "E" Boyd is accused of being an accessory to carjacking.

"On Sunday, Boyd visited Davidson's home on Chipman (Street) in Knoxville," Bobich wrote. "Davidson indicated to Boyd that Davidson was in some sort of trouble and needed to get out of the area because things were too hot. Boyd assisted Davidson in leaving the residence by making sure no law enforcement officers were in the area."

None of the records released Friday indicate how Christian died. Her body wasn't discovered until Tuesday. Authorities have not disputed Knighten's account that she had been raped.

Here are some details of what the young couple went through:
After the couple was kidnapped Channon Christian was forced to watch while Christopher Newsom was raped had his penis cut off and was set on fire then shot several times. After that Channon was beaten and raped repeatedly and her attackers took turns urinating on her. When the animals grew tired of their "fun" they sprayed drain cleaner in her mouth (apparently to eradicate DNA evidence) then cut off her breasts then, finally killed her.
I heard about this on the G. Gordon Liddy show. He wondered where the media and activists like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton were. After all they expressed enormous interest in the Duke rape case with its racial component.
Where would Sharpton and the media be if the races of the victims and murderers were reversed?

Baby shower turns lethal

From The Washington Post:

It was a beautiful party. There were baby bibs, a crib, booties and the usual silly shower games. Jerrod A. Falls was about to be an uncle. No one suspected that Saturday night's happy occasion would end in a hail of bullets and Falls lying dead in the parking lot.

Prince George's County police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting that killed Falls, 31, and injured his girlfriend. But police and family members say Falls was shot by an acquaintance as family members were leaving the baby shower for Falls's sister.

Yesterday, police issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in the shooting: Eric Dixon of the 7100 block of Greeley Road in the Hyattsville area. Attempts to reach Dixon by phone were unsuccessful.

Police said the trouble started about 7 p.m. when 40 to 50 family members began leaving Jeriesha Falls's baby shower at Woodlawn Recreation Center in the Landover Hills area. Jerrod Falls was talking with his uncle and a couple of other men in the parking lot near the 6900 block of Greenvale Parkway when an argument erupted between Falls and Dixon, Falls's girlfriend's brother.

"Jerrod was trying to walk away. He was telling the boy, 'Please don't do that in front of my family,' " recalled Ronlicia Gordon-Falls, a cousin of Falls's.

In seconds, the friendly family get-together turned violent when Dixon, 25, pushed Falls in the chest, the cousin recalled. As the two men argued, a young child standing nearby ran from the parking lot into the street. When Dixon chased the boy down and then roughly yanked him out of the street, Falls became upset, and the two exchanged more heated words, Gordon-Falls recalled.

"They started shouting at each other," she said. "Then [Dixon] pulled out a gun."

Family members scattered as Dixon began chasing Falls. In the midst of the panic, Gordon-Falls, 17, began screaming, and Dixon turned the gun on her and started shooting, she said. Her cousin sprinted toward her, telling her to take cover behind a car. The shots kept coming, she said. "He was shooting everywhere. Bullets were flying."

Falls collapsed on the pavement after Dixon shot him in the back, Gordon-Falls said. Then, she said, she saw Dixon standing over her cousin and firing rounds into him with a large, black handgun. "When Jerrod sat up, that boy went right up to him and started shooting into him right on the ground," Gordon-Falls said.

She said family members briefly wrestled with Dixon before he broke loose and fled.

What good purpose is served by omitting any reference to the race of the people involved in this tragedy?

I have two good friends, a pair of sisters, who are due to have babies next month. I have absolutely no fear that someone will start throwing shots at their baby shower next week. But then they are married, white and middle class.

Read what Tony Blair said about conditions in the UK:

What we are dealing with is not a general social disorder; but specific groups or people who for one reason or another, are deciding not to abide by the same code of conduct as the rest of us. This came home to me when, at the recent summit I held on knife and gun crime, the black Pastor of a London church said bluntly: when are we going to start saying this is a problem amongst a section of the black community and not, for reasons of political correctness, pretend that this is nothing to do with it.

Does anyone doubt that that isn't even more true about the United States?

The fact is that if you strip the crime commited by blacks out of the US staticists we have a crime rate lower than Canada. America's crime problem is a race problem and it will not be solved until it is addressed in that way.

The Imus affair

From The New York Times:

Don Imus was suspended. But it looked as though NBC had suspended the suspension. This scandal-harried radio host and MSNBC star was free to appear on “Today” yesterday and explain himself again and again: His interview with Matt Lauer and his debate with the Rev. Al Sharpton, their second, were shown simultaneously on the MSNBC show “Imus in the Morning.”

The Rutgers University basketball players, fresh from a Rocky-like rise to the N.C.A.A. women’s championship game, held a news conference to explain that the slur-heard-round-the-world robbed them of their “moment.”

Mr. Imus’s moment keeps going into overtime.

NBC said Mr. Imus’s two-week timeout would begin next Monday to allow Mr. Imus to hold a call-in pledge drive for several of his charities for sick children. The radiothon begins on Thursday, leaving Mr. Imus more time to lobby to keep his job — and receive testimonials from longtime guests like the Newsweek columnist Howard Fineman and comrades in political incorrectitude like the comedian Bill Maher.

The network had time to showcase its disgraced star and wring every last drop of attention from the latest ado about verbal insensitivity.

If that last sentence doesn't sum it all up. . .

I haven't said anything about this before now because I haven't found anything about the situation to be very interesting. However the reactions of the media and the basketball players is worthy of comment.

First of all the media, as the NYT story notes, is playing the affair for all it's worth. They are using what Imus said in order to generate ratings and by doing so are making themselves participants in his actions.

Second, the Rutgers basketball players are demonstrating that they have been well trained by the modern American grievance industry. For them to actually have their "moment" stolen by the remarks of a butt-ugly, talentless old liberal has-been like Imus would bespeak a fragility of spirit which does not go with the type of personality needed to become a championship athlete.

Athletic contests like basketball games are almost the last bastion of pure merit in our culture. To be as successful as they are the Rutgers players simply cannot be so delicate as to have their quality of life impacted by the statements of a fool like Imus. Do they not know that black women are described in terms far more graphic and far more degrading by black, male Rap singers every day of the week?

Of course they know this and it bothers them either not at all or at least not so much as to be worthy of a press conference. What made the Imus business so special was the fact that the media was willing to give them a forum from which they could decry white America and make the case that American society is rotten with institutional racism.

What I find interesting about this is the way in which it exposes the hypocrisy of the left in that they are using Imus' racist comments to generate ratings while pretending to deplore racism and the way which it exposes the bottomless sense of both victimization and entitlement in the black community.

Speaking truth to hustlers

Heather Mac Donald has an excellent essay up on the City Journal website about the police shooting of Sean Bell outside a strip club last month. In it she offers this advice to the Black "community leaders" who have summarily found the police officers guilty of first degree murder:

If the city’s black advocates paid even a tiny fraction of the attention they pay to shootings by criminals as they pay to shootings by police, they could change the face of the city. If demonstrators gathered outside the jail cell of every rapist and teen stick-up thug, cameras in tow, to shame them for their attacks on law-abiding minority residents, they could deglamorize the gangsta life. Think you’ll find Sharpton or Barron patrolling with the police in dark housing project stairways, trying to protect residents from predators? Not a chance. Among the crimes committed in minority communities since last week’s police shooting of Sean Bell there has been a 26-year-old man fatally shot in the Bronx; another man hit by stray bullets; a sandwich shop in Brownsville robbed by thugs who fired a gun; and three elderly men robbed at knifepoint by a parolee in Queens. Those minority victims who survived will have to rely on the police and the courts, not the race “advocates,” for vindication.

There is, of course, no chance whatsoever that detestable oxygen thieves like Sharpton, Jackson or Barron will do anything that could be remotely helpful. To actually fix the problems in the Black community would deprive them of their power base.

To see how the other Black "leaders" would react to any sane suggestion of how the Black community could reform itself and end its misery just look at what happened to Bill Cosby back in 2004 when he dared to stand up in a public forum and tell the truth.
