Asheville part III

The Grove Park Inn is a true world class resort. It had no equal in the region, in fact in the entire Southeast, until he Inn on the Biltmore Estate opened. Now it is a toss up. I suspect that the GPI has the edge because it has been here longer and is more developed.

It is hard to get a picture of the entire front of the building, what with the size of it and the trees in the way.

The Grove Park Inn opened in 1913.

There are lots of pictures on their website.

Their rates are not bad with rooms going from $225.00 to $300.00 per night in the off season.

I don't want to think what they'll be charging during their centennial celebration during 2013.

My old pickup truck felt very out of place in the parking lot.
