Today's Music

I haven't posted music in a while so here are three nice videos:

Altan - Dúlamán. The nicest song ever about seaweed.

Rathlestair - Dragonfly

And finally Poor Man's Fortune performing at the North Texas Irish Festival. Yes, that is E.J. Jones sitting in.

Tonight's Music

Celtic band Rathkeltaír performs a set of traditional Scottish music at the Columbia Museum of Art. Rathkeltaír consists of bagpiper Neil Anderson and drummer Nick Watson, two original members of Celtic rock group 7 Nations, and guitarist Trevor Tanner, front-man for The Bolshoi.

This program is a partnership of the Columbia Museum of Art and South Carolina Educational Television.

Tonight's Music

This is something a little different from what I usually post. It is a private jam session recorded somewhere in Columbia, SC. It came to my attention because the flute player is Neil Anderson who is the piper with Rathkeltair.

This whole thing has a very familiar feel to me. I can’t tell you how many such sessions witnessed playing everything from old-timey Country to Bluegrass to Celtic to New Wave rock.

The only thing different about this one is that the beverages appear to be Pepsi rather than the more common beer.

Tonight's moment of Zen

This is Rathkeltair doing the Cure tune Lovesong. A Celtic group doing a Goth Rock number complete with whistle and fiddle wtih people wearing kilts in the audience.
