The ACORN doesn't fall far from the tree

From The Daily Grind:

Legitimacy

By Bill Wilson

All governments rise or fall on the degree to which the people find them legitimate. When the people no longer believe a government has gained power by legitimate means or that a government operates in an honest and legitimate manner, only force and intimidation maintains it.

And as history has shown repeatedly, no amount of force or state-terror against the populous is ever enough to prevail. True, brute thuggish tactics can hold off the will of the people for a long time. It worked for over 70 years in Russia, but only 12 in Nazi Germany. It has been effective in Cuba for nearly 50 years, but fell quickly in Cambodia.

One of the true strengths of the United States has been the accepted process for the peaceful transfer of power from one group of people to another. This process, elections held at regular intervals, has conferred that most precious of all commodities on the United States Government: legitimacy.

But in 2008, in a desperate drive for power, that most valuable of gifts from our Founding Fathers is being abused and discarded. Simply put, it is becoming more and more evident every day that the elections this year may not be legitimate, that the “winners” will not be able to claim they assumed office in a fair and open manner. In short, we could be about to be ruled by an illegitimate government founded on fraud and outright criminality.

All across America reports are coming in of obvious voter fraud. While election offices have been flooded with new registrants, even a cursory review is finding rampant fraud. The abuse was so blatant in Nevada that police secured a search warrant and raided one of the offices of the registration organization. They had arrogantly used the roster of the Dallas Cowboys football team on multiple registration forms.

If all of these incidents were isolated, then you could just chalk it up to an over enthused electorate. But they are not isolated; they are coordinated and planned. And all of the abuse and outright criminal behavior leads back to one place, an organization named ACORN.

ACORN is a radical leftwing group formed out of the Welfare Rights organization. Its founder, Wade Rathke, was a member of the SDS, the violent, anti-American organization. Over the years, this fringe group has grown in power and stature through tens of millions of dollars in tax money funneled to them from crony politicians and from a network of socialist private foundations.

The level of fraud is so great that some brave U.S. Attorneys are looking at taking action. But the odds are it is too late, that their efforts will be squashed and the election will be outright stolen. There is zero precedent in America for overturning an election once it has been certified. So, the fraudulent election is likely to take place, the results certified and the so-called “winner” will assume office.

And since it is Barrack Obama who is joined at the hip with ACORN, one must assume it is for his election that ACORN is breaking every law it can. That should not be much of a surprise since the Obama campaign paid ACORN $800,000 for “advance” work, even going so far as to try to hide who was actually getting the money.

Justice may yet prevail. The U.S. Justice system may block this assault. It is not pre-ordained that Barrack Obama will be sworn in to office on January 20. A lot is going to happen between now and the election.

But the question should be asked: If Obama does win based on a plan of massive voter fraud, intimidation, and outright criminal activity, how will he govern? How can anyone who has attained the office through tactics more akin to tin-horn dictators ever have the legitimacy to govern?

The answer is self-evident, he will have no legitimacy. Every act he and his dutiful lackeys in Congress take will have no legitimate base with the American people. As someone who will have only attained power through the crude, thuggish actions of ACORN and their allies, nothing he says will carry the authority or respect all law depends on to function.

As observed before, when power lacks moral authority and the true consent of the governed, it has only one way to assert its will – force, the threat of violence, and outright physical control. And, especially given the temperament of the American people, such action would lead to only one reaction, resistance.

That is what is at stake. The seeds are being sown now of what could be the darkest chapter in our nation’s history. An illegitimate government using force to compel a restive citizenry to “share” their income in ever increasing amounts for dubious social welfare scams and radical One World foreign policies will not end well.

One person has the ability to prevent this. Barrack Obama himself is the only person who can short-circuit the dangerous cycle we have entered. If he immediately called on state election officials to purge voter lists in a manner designed to remove the fraudulent registrants, if he joined with people of good faith of all political persuasions to establish a monitoring system, if he openly discussed his relationship with ACORN and cooperated with law enforcement authorities, he would ensure the legitimacy of the elections. And, he would accomplish what he says he wants, true reconciliation in America.

Whether Obama would win in a fair contest is hard to say. He has many assets and skills. If he fails to acts now, he could win the White House and lose all. He would forever be seen as the interloper, the illegitimate beneficiary of the largest fraud ever committed. But if he does “man-up” at this crucial moment, he will gain the respect of friend and foe alike. He will have earned for himself the legitimacy no stolen election can ever confer.

Where is the real hate?

We have been hearing the left complain about the anger being directed at them by ordinary Americans at McCain/Palin events. However there seems to be a great deal more hatred being generated by the left than the right. Look at his video of some McCain/Palin supporters marching through Manhattan:

Many thanks to our friends at The People's Cube for posting this. Their conclusion is correct. The left has never been about anything other than suppressing dissent. Whether Stalin in Russia, Hitler in Germany, Mao in China or Pol Pot in Cambodia leftists cannot tolerate challenges to their orthodoxy.

The polls show that the race is tightening up again with Obama's relatively small lead shrinking. Clearly the efforts to reveal Senator Obama's true character by highlighting his associations with terrorists, communist revolutionaries, racist hate-mongers, African dictators and criminal slumlords is having an effect.

John McCain and Sarah Palin have kicked Obama where it hurts and they should keep kicking as often and as hard as they can.

To my fellow Republicans who still harbor doubts about John McCain I have this to say. I don't blame you. You will remember that I was urging conservatives not to vote for McCain right up until the Republican convention. However what we have learned about Obama in recent weeks and months has revealed a man who is not simply incompetent and foolish but is actually evil.

I once believed that McCain would use his position as leader of the party to restructure the Republican party into his own image by driving out the conservative movement. His choice of Sarah Palin, a true Reagan conservative, as his running mate takes that possibility off the table. Although I expect a McCain administration to be a constant battle to restrain his tendency to "cross the aisle" and work with Democrats to advance their agenda Senator McCain is NOT a Marxist dictator wannabe like Barack Obama.

You can tell almost everything you need to know about a person by looking at his friends and his enemies. John McCain's enemies are al Qaeda, Kim Jong-il, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Barack Hussein Obama, The New York Times and Nancy Pelosi. In other words a detestable rogues gallery of America-hating filth.

Every one of the above scumbags who hate John McCain want Obama to be the next President of the United States.

Who are John McCain's friends? Well since the campaign began his strongest support has come from organizations like the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is loved by active duty servicemen and his best friend in the Senate was Fred Thompson.

We know who loves Obama (anyone who hates America) but who does Obama like? Jeremiah Wright the racist merchant of hate and preacher of the anti-Christian cult of Black Liberation Theology. William Ayers the violent communist revolutionary and terrorist bomber and his terrorist wife Bernadine Dohrn (whose hero was Charles Manson). Louis Farrakhan leader of the antisemitic Nation of Islam who calls Obama "the messiah" (and he's serious). Anthony Rezko the corrupt and criminal Chicago slumlord.

Obama has called all of these people friend and comrade. We must ask ourselves what is the deep flaw in Barack Obama's character which draws him to befriend the very worst that humanity has to offer.

What is it that attracts Barack Obama to the political philosophies which would kill liberty and prosperity in this nation?

Why does Barack Obama hate the very society which had allowed him to advance so far?

In the end the question of what makes Barack Obama "tick" is not all that important to anyone but Obama himself (and the wife and children who must live with him). What matters, or should matter, to the American electorate is the fact that Obama's list of both friends and enemies demonstrate a man who will reflexively come down on whichever side of an issue which is against the best interests of the United States of America and its people.

It was a profound mistake for the people of Illinois to give this man a seat in the Unites States Senate. It would be a mistake many orders of magnitude greater for the American people to make this man president.

More on the little messiah's troubling friends

Someone calling themselves Your TN neighbor left this comment to my post The little messiah is on the run:

I'm not noticing any updates to TROOPERGATE. For the record, she committed crimes while Governor of Alaska. What crimes are you talking about Obama committing?

Also, please comment on the terrorists at McCain's rallies chanting, "kill him and off with his head". These are the people with which you associate.

Here is my response:

TN,

I have doubts that you really are from Tenn. I travel through there two to three days a week and the people I meet are not brain-dead idiots. However I suppose that it is possible that you moved there from some Northern hell-hole state like New Jersey.

If that is the case I urge you consider the fact that the place you fled from was governed by the same kind of left-wing Democrats that you now want to put in charge of the entire nation.

Where will you run to when they do to the entire country what they have done to New Jersey or Michigan or wherever it is you ran away from?

As for Obama's actual crimes one is the corrupt land deal he entered with Anthony Rezko and another involves his close association with ACORN. As I pointed out there is enough evidence out there now to prosecute ACORN under the RICO statutes. Obama was and is involved with them, even attempting to secure them a 100 million dollar share of the bailout money (thankfully that part of the plan was stricken).

As for Governor Palin's supposed wrongdoing in "troopergate" let me ask you a question. Do you beleive that a state trooper who drives his patrol car drunk, uses police weapons like a taser on his 10-year-old stepson and issues public death threats against his ex-wife's family should still be in uniform? Do you support violent drunken child-abusers having badges?

If you believe that "troopergate" is about Mrs. Palin attempting to get that man fired from his state police job then you must believe that the governor, who is the chief law enforcement officer of the state and the ultimate commander of the State Police, has no responsibility to ensure that the bad apples are removed from the force.

Of course that is NOT why she fired Walter Monegan. Monegtan was dismissed because he was insubordinate. He worked behind the governor's back attempting to sabotage her administration. He was fired for good and proper cause.

The fact is that his firing came 19 months after the incidents with Governor Palin's former brother-in-law. If the drunken and abusive trooper was the reason for the firing why did she wait so long?

The investigation which just wrapped up had its conclusions written before it began. It is nothing more than Palin's enemies in the Democrat and Republican parties attempting a little payback for the way she moved in and cleaned up the state government.

You need to think hard on this before you vote. We see Palin's track record as an effective reformer validated in the way that the corrupt Alaska state establishment is grasping at these straws in their attempt to engineer some kind of "October Surprise" to damage her candidacy.

John McCain, while deeply flawed, is an honest man who also has a proven track record of reform. Both McCain and Palin have shown a willingness to take on their own party in the pursuit of justice.

Then look at Barack Obama. A deeply corrupt little man who received his political education and most of his political experience in the almost unbelievably corrupt sewer of Chicago Democrat-machine street politics. A place where Obama felt completely at home and functioned without one seeming moral qualm.

Look at Obama's association with ACORN, the criminal organization. Obama is now denying that he has ever had anything to do with ACORN but his name appears on legal documents as a lawyer for ACORN in a lawsuit aimed at forcing Chicago area banks relax lending standards when evaluating mortgage loan applications for poor and minority applicants.

Not only does this prove that Obama is a liar it shows that his fingerprints are all over the financial meltdown which is threatening to send the entire world into a recession.

Look at Obama's close association with Jeremiah Wright, the racist hate-monger. Obama attended Wright's church regularly over nearly 20 years. Now he claims that he had no idea that Wright ever said anything hateful from the pulpit. Do you find this credible? Either Obama is lying - again - or he is the most thick-headed and unobservant man on the planet.

Look at Obama's close association with William Ayers the violent communist revolutionary and terrorist bomber. It doesn't matter how old Obama was when Ayers planted bombs because Ayers is the same man today that he was then. He has recanted nothing and is today working for the same goals as he was then. And Barack Obama finds Ayers an acceptable friend and colleague.

Look at Obama's close association with Anthony Rezko the corrupt and criminal Chicago slumlord. Obama was supposed to be a reformer working on behalf of the poor and yet he befriended a man who was responsible for keeping many of Chicago's poor and minority citizens living in unsafe poorly maintained and filthy buildings. And Obama not only accepted Rezko's friendship he took large amounts of cash from him as well.

If Obama was/is really a "man of the people and friend to the poor" then why did he form such an intimate relationship with a man who preyed upon the poor? Why did he as a state senator funnel large amounts of taxpayer's money in the pockets of Rezko and other men just like him?

Barack Obama is not the man you think he is. I urge you and others who think like you to learn the truth before election day or else you will certainly learn it after election day.

As for the people at McCain rallies shouting "kill him" I have heard from people at those rallies who say that the only people acting that way are small handfuls of agents provocateurs sent there by the Obama campaign to create some kind of incident that the mainstream media (which is acting as Obama's propaganda organization in this election) can distort.

I'm not denying that there is real anger out there. Ever since the New York Times made the deliberate decision to lie about what was going on in the Soviet Union all the way back in the 1920's and 30's in order not to damage the cause of international communism the political left has been at war with the United States.

The left has done everything in its power to drive the United States into the ground like a tent peg and there is burning fury over it. Now the left has managed to get their man, the most radical leftist ever to run for the office of the president on a major party ticket, almost into the Oval Office. Real Americans see the left, which is responsible for the financial crisis, using that crisis, with the help of the mainstream media, to tar Republicans (who tried to stop the mess before it reached meltdown) and put one of the architects of the crisis in charge of the nation.

This is like the government giving the Gambino Family the contract to guard the US Mint.

Of course we are mad as hell!

Why aren't you?

The little messiah is on the run

From The Politico:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin attacked Barack Obama Thursday for not being honest about his association with 1960s radical William Ayers.

“Barack Obama hasn’t told the American people the total truth about that, about his association with Ayers,” Palin said on conservative radio host Laura Ingraham’s show. “Doggonit, he fails to tell the American people with candor and with truthfulness what his associations are and we have to know.”

Palin blamed the media for not providing what she characterized as the same level of scrutiny to Obama that it has applied to her and running mate John McCain.

“I don't see the other ticket being asked to be truthful and give details,” Palin said.

“Some in the mainstream media are saying that, well, we’re taking the gloves off unfairly. No. You know there are only, what, 26 days to go. We gotta start getting answers to these questions that are paramount here so that voters have a choice in front of them that is based on truthfulness and candor. They deserve it.”

The Alaska governor told Ingraham’s listeners that if those questions were being answered, voters would find Obama “out of the mainstream,” adding that the Illinois senator would diminish “the prestige of the United States presidency.”

No shot that has been fired against the Obama campaign has struck with as much damage as the Ayers connection. Even the screaming racist hate-monger Jeremiah Wright was not as bad for Obama as Ayers.

Why is that?

I believe the answer is that the nation has become somewhat numb to the spectacle of hateful black preachers spewing their bile. After all Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan have all been up in the nation's face for decades.

Bill Ayers is a horse of a different color (literally and figuratively). One of the deepest and most pervasive forms of racism which survives among the white population of the United States is what has been termed the "soft bigotry of low expectations". Far too many whites look at blacks like Jeremiah Wright and Al Sharpton and give them a pass because they just don't expect any more from them. After all they reason, though never out loud and never in so many words, blacks just don't have the intellectual ability or the emotional control to do any better so they just smile and nod and throw some cash at them to get them to shut up for a while.

Ayers, on the other hand, is white. And Ayers isn't just spewing hateful rhetoric he actually planted bombs. And enough of the American public still remember 9/11 for that to matter.

Barack Hussein Obama and Osama bin Laden have two things in common. One is that they both have Muslim sounding names and the other is that they both have friends who bombed the Pentagon and targets in New York City.

The mainstream media (which has made the deliberate choice to aid the Obama campaign in every way it can) is fully aware of the fact that the more the American public's nose is rubbed in William Ayers the worse Barack Obama smells. This is why they have gone into full blown damage control mode on this issue. Listen to how the Associated Press is spining the story of Obama's friendship with Ayers:

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain said Thursday that questions about Democratic rival Barack Obama's association with a former war protester linked to Vietnam-era bombings are part of a broader issue of honesty.

In his strongest personal criticism since his faltering campaign began casting Obama as an unknown and unacceptable candidate, McCain told supporters that Obama had not been truthful in describing his relationship with former radical William Ayers. The Arizona senator also said Obama himself has "a clear radical, far-left pro-abortion record."

McCain and the Republican National Committee also launched new Web and TV ads about Obama and Ayers.

Loud cheers from 4,000 people gathered at a sports complex near Milwaukee greeted McCain's attacks over Ayers, who helped found the Weather Underground, a Vietnam protest group that bombed government buildings 40 years ago. Obama has noted that he was a child at the time and first met Ayers and his wife, ex-radical Bernadine Dohrn, a quarter-century later.

Notice that Ayers is described as a "former war protester" and a "former radical" as though he no longer holds radical views or thinks that the Vietnam war was a bad idea.

Williams Ayers was a violent communist revolutionary and a terrorist bomber. People died as a result of the actions of the terrorist organization which Ayers led and helped found.

William Ayers has never recanted any belief he held during those days. He has never said that he regretted planting bombs. Rather he has said that he is proud of what he did and wishes that he had done more.

You are not a "former" radical if you still hold radical views and you are not a "former" terrorist if you are still proud of your terrorist deeds. The most that could be said of Ayers and his wife are that they are retired terrorists. But their retirement is a very active one because they are still working to achieve the same goals, that of transforming the Unites States into a communist state patterned after the Soviet Union, which they previously set bombs to achieve.

And it cannot escape notice that one of the principle ways in which Ayers is today attempting to achieve his goal of destroying the nation which he so hates is the promotion of radical left-wing politicians like Barack Obama.

Ayers could never hope to be elected to office himself with his background as a violent terrorist bomber so he promotes surrogates like Barack Obama to serve in his place. Men like Obama share Ayers radical Marxist views and hatred for America as it is currently constituted but they have never made the mistake of carrying their beliefs to the point of actual criminal violence.

This "clean record" allows men like Obama to be the face of the new radical left. However the illusion is destroyed if the close connections between the new generation like Obama and the old generation like Ayers are brought to light.

In Obama's case it also doesn't help that he has close ties to ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) which has been and is being repeatedly linked to various types of criminal behavior (go here, here and here for just the tip of the iceberg on ACORN's criminality - I guess we now know what "community organizers" really do).

As an aside I believe that there is enough information out there now to justify prosecuting ACORN under the RICO statutes. I hope that one of Fred Thompson's first acts as John McCain's Attorney General will be to instruct the FBI begin the investigation.

We are now around three weeks out from the election. Every day which passes between now and November 4 will be a day where even more people pay even closer attention to the race and the candidates. It is vital that we Republicans and keep pounding on Obama's racdical associations and that we keep reminding the public that the financial meltdown is a Democrat generated problem which has Barack Obama's fingerprints all over it.

The general public is deeply sceptical about Barack Obama. If they weren't he would already be 15 points ahead in the reliable polls. He is not. His real lead, the one you get when you discount the polls with cooked numbers, is below five percent. Obama's own internal polling shows that if he doesn't go into election day with a real lead of over five percent that he will lose.

It is within our power to deny Obama the White House but we must make the effort.

It looks to be an interesting story, if we ever get to read it

This is on the Drudge Report:

WASH TIMES Friday: Obama secretly tried to sway Iraqi government to ignore Bush deal on keeping troops in Iraq...

When I try to follow the link the connection will not go through. Same thing when I go to the Washington Times website and try to use the link on their front page.

I hope that this is because so many people are reading the story that the Times' servers can't handle the traffic.

However given some of the other behavior we have seen from the Obama campaign I would not rule out some kind of hacking or DNS attack.

Miss Ann is talking

That means that YOU are listening!

If Sarah Palin had made just one of the wildly inaccurate statements smugly uttered by Sen. Joe Biden in last week's vice presidential debate, there would have been 3-inch headlines in newspapers across America. (I can almost hear Katie Couric asking me, "Which newspapers?")

These weren't insignificant errors, such as when Biden said, "Look, all you have to do is go down Union Street with me in Wilmington or go to Katie's restaurant or walk into Home Depot with me where I spend a lot of time, and you ask anybody in there whether or not the economic and foreign policy of this administration has made them better off in the last eight years."

It turns out that Katie's restaurant, where Biden gets his feel for the average American, closed 20 years ago. The only evidence that he spends any time in Home Depot is that it appears that a pipe wrench fell on his head one too many times.

Palin would surely have been forced to withdraw from the ticket had she said something like that, but most of Biden's errors were not trifling mistakes like these. They were lengthy Lyndon LaRouche-like disquisitions that were pure fantasy from beginning to end.

For example, Biden said about Hezbollah: "When we kicked -- along with France -- we kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon." Hezbollah was never kicked out of Lebanon.

He continued: "I said and Barack said, 'Move NATO forces in there. Fill the vacuum, because if you don't, Hezbollah will control it.'" This is madness -- Lebanon is not a NATO country, nor had any NATO country been attacked by Lebanon.

Somebody please tell me that Biden wasn't picked for the Democrat ticket based on his knowledge of foreign policy.

Biden also stoutly denied that Obama ever said he would sit down with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Liberals find it hilarious that McCain can't use a computer keyboard on account of his war injuries, but Biden is apparently unaware of the Internet, because there are clips all over the Internet of Obama saying exactly that during the CNN/YouTube debate last year.

Biden might have remembered that debate since: (1) He was there, and (2) he later attacked Obama's answer, telling the National Press Club in August 2007: "Would I make a blanket commitment to meet unconditionally with the leaders of each of those countries within the first year I was elected president? Absolutely, positively, no."

And that's still not all! Obama's own Web site says: "Obama supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions."

Somebody please tell me that Biden wasn't picked for the Democrat ticket based on his ability to remember well-known facts.

Biden also gave a long speech at the debate on vice president Dick Cheney's "dangerous" belief that "he's part of the legislative branch." The great constitutional scholar Biden cited Article I of the Constitution as proof that Cheney "works in the executive branch" and has "no authority relative to the Congress." Biden huffily added: "He should understand that. Everyone should understand that."

Palin would have had to deny that Alaska is a state in the union in order to say something comparably stupid.

Article II, not I, describes the executive branch. Someone tell Biden, who is supposed to be a lawyer. Apart from getting the Articles of the Constitution mixed up, what on earth does Biden mean when he says that the vice president "has no authority relative to Congress," apart from breaking ties?

The Constitution makes him president of the senate every day of the week. I realize that Biden may not be able to count to two, but Article I says the vice president is president of one of the two houses of Congress -- the one Biden is in, for crying out loud -- which is what you might call "authority relative to Congress."

Somebody please tell me that Biden wasn't picked for the Democrat ticket based on his knowledge of the Constitution.

In one especially hallucinatory answer, Biden authoritatively stated: "With Afghanistan, facts matter, Gwen. ... We spend more money in three weeks on combat in Iraq than we spent on the entirety of the last seven years that we have been in Afghanistan building that country."

According to the Congressional Research Service, since 9/11, we've spent $172 billion in Afghanistan and $653 billion in Iraq. The most money spent in Iraq came in 2008, when we have been spending less than $3 billion a week. So by Biden's calculations, we've spent only about $9 billion "on the entirety of the last seven years that we have been in Afghanistan building that country." There isn't even a "9" in $172 billion.

Somebody please tell me that Biden wasn't picked for the Democrat ticket based on his knowledge of math.

In the same answer, Biden went on to claim that "John McCain voted against a comprehensive nuclear test ban treaty that every Republican has supported."

The last nuclear test ban treaty the Senate voted on was the one Clinton signed in the '90s. As The New York Times editorialized on the Senate vote a few years later: "Last week, Senate Republicans thundered 'no' to the nuclear test ban treaty, handing the White House its biggest defeat since health care in 1994." Forty-nine Republicans voted against the treaty; only four liberal Republicans voted for it. That's the treaty Biden says "every Republican has supported."

Somebody please tell me that Biden wasn't picked for the Democrat ticket based on his ability to function as vice president.

Yes, Joe Biden is a joke and a pathetically lame one at that. Yet he is still more qualified to be president than the man at the top of his ticket.

Back during the Democrat primaries Patrick Kelly asked me which 0f the Democrats I would pick if I had to pick one. My answer was Biden based on the fact that there were a number of times during the debates when he looked like the only grownup on the stage. But remember he was standing on a stage next to Hillary Clinton, Dennis Kuchinch and B. Hussein Obama so that wasn't hard to do.

Sort of like observing that your 6-year-0ld is more mature than your 4-year-old.

It is impossible for me to believe that the nation is getting ready to put this dynamic duo of idiocy into the White House, but then I remember Jimmy Carter.

So get out and vote! I know that John McCain is about the last nominal Republican you would have wanted on the ticket, but remember we are really not voting for him. We are voting against B. Hussein Obama and we are voting for Sarah Palin in 2012. Either of those things ought to be enough to get any Republican to crawl over broken glass to get to the voting booth.

Too Close To Call

The presidential race is still too close to call and could come down to the very last weekend before voters decide if they like or distrust Barack Obama, a national pollster predicts.

“I don’t think Obama has closed the deal yet,” pollster John Zogby told the Herald yesterday.

Zogby’s latest poll, released yesterday in conjunction with C-Span and Reuters, shows Obama and John McCain in a statistical dead heat, with the Illinois Democrat up 48-45 percent.

Zogby said the race mirrors the 1980 election, when voters didn’t embrace Ronald Reagan over then-President Jimmy Carter until just days before the election.

“The Sunday before the election the dam burst,” Zogby said of the 1980 tilt. “That’s when voters determined they were comfortable with Reagan.”

Now voters are wrestling with two senators with opposite resumes - Obama, at 47, the unknown, and the established 72-year-old McCain.

Zogby said he’s still hearing from moderates and non-partisan voters - what he calls “the big middle” - who are still shopping for a candidate.

“It still can break one way or the other,” Zogby says.

This is why it is critically important that Republicans not lose heart. Barack Obama is not a closer. He has to either clear the field by getting his opponents disqualified and removed from the ballot or drop some last-minute slime bomb on them when it is too late for them to do damage control.

Even in the Democrat primary he did not win the popular vote among Democrat primary voters but had to manipulate easily gamed caucuses and even then he had to be carried over the finish line by the superdelegates.

Obama is deeply vulnerable to attacks on his character, his judgment and his patriotism. Obama's past shows a pattern of connections to radical figures such as communist revolutionary and domestic terrorist William Ayers and racist "pastor" Jeremiah Wright. Recently a new and in some ways even more troubling association has come to light.

It seems that Obama has been in close contact with Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Mr. Obama was in almost daily contact with Odinga serving as a campaign advisor to the Kenyan during his run for office. Documents uncovered by journalist Jerome Corsi reveal that Odinga signed a statement of understanding with racical Islamist elements in Kenya agreeing that if the Islamists would support Odinga that he would expand sharia law in Kenya. Odinga also exploited tribal hatreds and called for his supporters to claim voter fraud and resort to armed violence if Odinga lost at the polls. People who were close to Odinga and abandoned him after his embrace of violent tactics and partnership with Islamists inform Mr. Corsi that Barack Obama has seen the revelant documents and is fully aware of Odinga's plans and associations.

It would seem that Mr. Obama is not content to simply sit down and meet with dictators without preconditions. Rather it seems that he wants to join their campaign staff and help them in their rise to power.

This should come as no surprise to anyone since the one consistent thread which weaves through Obama's entire political life is a natural attraction to the most radical anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-Western civilization elements that he can find.

Given the outraged shrieks of protest from the Obama campaign (and its unofficial auxiliary in the mainstream media) the attacks on Obama's associations are paying off. We have already seen the Obama campaign pull out the left's last desperate defense against a truthful accusation - that of calling the accuser racist, sexist, anti-poor or homophobic.

As the Marine general once said, "when you find that you've kicked the enemy where it hurts keep kicking".

One thing we Republicans need to remember, however, is that the case against Obama will not be made by John McCain, at least not with any force and not in the final presidential debate.

McCain for whatever reason, whether he believes that it will offend moderates or whether it violates his idea of and "honorable" campaign, will not climb down into the sewer which is Obama's natural habitat. He will follow the course which he has set for himself even if he knows that it will result in his defeat. He can do no other, it is simply the kind of person he is.

As Rush Limbaugh pointed out yesterday it is going to be up to us to drag McCain over the finish line - possibly kicking screaming out his denunciations of us and our tactics. And once he is in office it is going to be up to us to engage in nearly daily hand-to-hand combat against him and whatever menagerie of left-wing Democrats he packs his cabinet with (in order to prove his bi-partisanship, don't ya know) in order to limit the damage he can do to the nation and the party.

However this will be preferable to watching helplessly as president Obama and a Democrat congress restructure the nation, turning it into the kind of place that people like Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright dream of living in.

Not to beat a dead horse

But the fact that these edit together so damn well ought to scare the crap out of everybody.

The race narrows, again

CBS reports:

(CBS) In a sign that the race for president has returned to about where it was before the first presidential debate, the Obama-Biden ticket leads the McCain-Palin ticket 47 percent to 43 percent among registered voters in a new CBS News poll.

The Obama-Biden ticket led by a wider margin, nine percentage points, in a CBS News poll released last Wednesday, before Joe Biden and Sarah Palin faced off in the vice presidential debate. Obama-Biden led by five percentage points on Sept. 25.

In the new poll, the Democratic ticket leads by 3 percentage points, 48 percent to 45 percent, among likely voters.

Zogby finds the same thing:

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama has a narrow 3-point lead in the U.S. presidential race on Republican John McCain less than a month before the election, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Tuesday.

Obama leads McCain among likely U.S. voters 48 percent to 45 percent in the national poll, which has a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points. Four percent of voters said they were still undecided.

Notice that the Obama lead, which was never very big to begin with and was only caused by the public's reaction to the current financial meltdown, is shrinking. I think there are several reasons for this.

One is that the public is beginning to really pay attention and look into both candidates. Anyone who looks closely at Barack Obama cannot help but see an inexperienced and foolish man whose associations call his character and judgement (not to mention his patriotism) into serious question. The fact that Obama naturally gravitates to people like unrepentant communist revolutionary and terrorist bomber William Ayers and the racist merchant of hate Jeremiah Wright and the sleazy corrupt businessman Anthony Rezko should give any unbiased observer something very serious to be concerned with.

John McCain, on the other hand, is not "interesting" or "exciting" but he is solid, dependable, experienced and honest. He has worn the nation's uniform and faced combat and captivity in the service of our nation. He is a genuine patriot, not thinking that the nation is perfect but loving it just as it is, warts and all. He is an expert on military affairs and foreign relations and is feared by our enemies. He is a man with the courage to follow his convictions even when it seems to be political suicide.

Looking at the number two spot we find another sharp contrast. In Joe Biden we find one of the most dangerous types of people to entrust with power. Biden is a man who believes himself to be possessed of superior intellect and deep reserves of knowledge. What he is in reality is an extremely mediocre intellect and a very large part of what he holds to be knowledge is wrong in whole or in part. There is an old parable which goes in part, "the man who knows not and knows that he knows not is ignorant, teach him; the man who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool, avoid him". By this standard Biden is clearly a fool and should be avoided.

Governor Palin, however, is the very picture of competence. As a mayor and then Governor Palin's career in public service is very nearly an unbroken chain of successes. She possess more executive experience than Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden combined (in fact you could add in John McCain's executive experience with the other two and she would still come out on top). Obama, McCain and Biden all three belong to a legislative body whose approval rating is hovering near the single digits while Mrs. Palin has an 80% approval rating as Governor of Alaska.

The single deficiency Sarah Palin has in regard to her fitness to be president is her lack of foreign policy experience. All she has to her credit in that regard is the fact that she successfully negotiated a complex pipeline deal with the Canadian government. Of course this gives her more actual foreign policy experience than Barack Obama. And Joe Biden is on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, but most of his stated positions on foreign policy issues for the past 20 years and more have been completely wrong so does that count? I mean is experience being wrong the kind of experience we want?

Another reason for the falling Obama poll numbers is the fact that people are beginning to look closely at the two parties. The financial crisis initially helped Democrats but the left-wing mainstream media has lost its monopoly on the dissemination of information. Talk radio and the Internet have been working virtually 24/7 to get the truth about the actual origin of this crisis out before the public and the effort is enjoying a large measure of success.

More and more people are being awakened to the fact that this meltdown is the handiwork of the Democrat party. Rather than a failure to regulate enough it is a result of bad regulations which required lenders to make bad loans which they could then sell to a giant government created and backed entity. The success of the efforts to get the truth out is seen in the fact that Barny Frank, one of the architects of the current crisis, is attempting to cast truth-telling on this matter as racism (this, BTY, is how you tell that Democrats have lost an argument - they start accusing their opponents of racism or sexism or homophobia or being against the poor).

The final reason that the public seems to be turning away from Obama is all the creepy behavior from his followers. All those YouTube videos of children and teens acting like fanitical Hitler Youth are scaring the pants off normal people. The fact that Obama's minions are willing to act this way when the election is still in doubt has ordinary Americans wondering what they will do if Obama gains real power. An American Reich is seeming to be a realistic possibility especially given the fact that the home of antisemitism in the Western World is with the political left today.

The election is still too far away to call and the polls are still too close together to say that either candidate has the clear advantage but the trends seem to favor McCain/Palin at the moment.

In the end the election will be decided by which side cares enought to go out and vote in the greater numbers. I urge all my readers not to let someone like B. Hussein Obama lead this nation.

Obama Youth drill - UPDATED

By now the comparisons between Obama's rise to power and Adolf Hitler's similar rise in Germany are too obvious to ignore. The latest example of "Obama Youth" is this:

This kind of thing is already beginning to scare those who go out of their way to pay attention. It is very soon going to begin to filter out to the general public and yet the Obama pod-people can't seem to help themselves.

This kind of thing may wind up saving the country.

The original video has been pulled from YouTube. However these things get copied and reposted so I our friend Hyunchback was able to find another copy.

As I said the Obama Kool-Aid drinkers can't help themselves. This kind of thing harms Obama by telegraphing exactly what his "movement" is all about, but they still do it.

If they will act this way when the election is still in doubt (Obama's small lead is eroding)how will they act when they control both the executive and legislative branches?

Taking the gloves off

Oct. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Republican Sarah Palin returned to the campaign trail with her ``gloves off,'' taking on the vice presidential candidate's traditional role of attack dog and lashing out at Barack Obama.

At weekend rallies and fundraisers she criticized Illinois Senator Obama personally, particularly his association with Bill Ayers, a former member of the Weather Underground radical group, whom she described as a ``domestic terrorist.'' The Democratic presidential nominee ``is not a man who sees America as you see it,'' she said at a campaign rally in Carson, California.

Her supporters said they liked the new tone. ``It's about time the pit bull got loose,'' said Ken Gow, a 47-year-old police officer who was among the more than 10,000 people at the Oct. 4 rally.

It is good that the McCain/Palin campaign appears to genuinely want to win. That had been in doubt.

In order to understand everything you need to know about the relationship between Obama and Ayres you must consider these facts:

1. Obama's political career was launched in Ayers home. Ayers hosted a gathering of Chicago area Democrat players when Obama was making his first run for office. The purpose of the get together was to introduce Obama to the others and to demonstrate that he had Ayers stamp of approval.

2. Obama served on the board of a left-wing foundation with Ayers for years.

3. Obama accepted a job from Ayers to run a program which was intended to improve Chicago's education system. This, BTY, is Obama's only real executive experience and it ended in utter failure.

4. When first asked about his relationship with Ayers Obama defended him describing Ayers as an "English professor" as if that were the most important thing to know about him. Obama said that they were friendly and knew each other because they lived in the same area and their children attended the same schools. Ayers children are grown while Obama's are both under 10. What schools are they attending together?

Obama wants us to believe that his relationship with Ayers is no big deal becaue Ayers crimes took place when Obama was only a child and because Obama has denounced Ayers crimes.

But here is the important point. William Ayers, the terrorist bomber and communist revolutionary, does not regret his actions. He is proud of everything he did.

If anyone is having trouble understanding why this means that Obama is completely unfit to be the next president look at it this way. What if John McCain were revealed to be a friends and colleague with a man who burned black churches, bombed synagogues and beat the Freedom Riders as they rode their buses through the Jim Crow South?

What if this man said that he was proud of everything he had done to "keep the niggers and Jews down" and only wished that he could have done more? What if this man never even went to jail because of a legal technicality?

What if McCain denounced his friend's past actions but described him now as just a "retired auto mechanic"? What if McCain pointed out that he didn't even know the man back then and wasn't even in the country (being deployed over seas in the Navy) during the time the man committed his crimes?

Would the mainstream media and the Democrat party (sorry, redundant) give McCain a pass on this relationship?

The situations are EXACTLY the same.

William Ayers was a communist and a terrorist and he stands by his beliefs and actions. That makes him evil. A patriotic American looks at William Ayers and feels burning fury that he was never called to account for his crimes. A patriotic American looks at William Ayers sitting comfortably ensconced in a tenured professorship in Chicago and feels nothing but volcanic outrage.

Only a complete moral leper reaches out a hand of friendship to a thing like William Ayers.

The ONLY appropriate reaction to coming face to face with William Ayers is to spit in his face. ANYONE who does not understand that has no business being president of the United States. ANYONE who does not understand that has no business being in the United States Senate.

Shame on the University of Chicago for employing his evil man. Shame on Barack Obama for not feeling a decent sense of anger that Ayers is not spending the rest of his life behind bars and for being willing to befriend him. Shame on the Illinois Democrat party for allowing this evil man to wield influence within their party and same on the national Democrat party for not denouncing the Illinois Democrats for this.

The terrorist bomber and communist revolutionary William Ayers is not B. Hussein Obama's only questionable association. I hope Governor Palin spends some time talking about the others as well.

I'm back

Miss Ann is talking

That means that YOU are listening!

While Gov. Sarah Palin is being grilled on her position on mark-to-market accounting rules, the press can't bother to ask Joe Biden if he could give us a ballpark estimate on when Franklin D. Roosevelt was president -- or maybe take a stab at guessing the decade when televisions were first available to the public.

Being interviewed by Katie Couric on the "CBS Evening News," Biden said: "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"

For those of you who aren't hard-core history buffs, Biden not only named the wrong president during the 1929 stock market crash, he also claimed a president who wasn't president during the stock market crash went on TV before Americans had TVs.

Other than that, the statement holds up pretty well. At least Biden managed to avoid mentioning any "clean" Negroes he had met.

Couric was nearly moved to tears by the brilliance of Biden's brain-damaged remark. She was especially intrigued by Biden's claim that FDR had said the new iPhone was the bomb!

Here is Couric's full response to Biden's bizarre outburst about FDR (a) being president and (b) going on TV in 1929: "Relating to the fears of the average American is one of Biden's strong suits."

But when our beauteous Sarah said that John McCain was a better leader on the economy than Barack Obama, Couric relentlessly badgered her for evidence. "Why do you say that?" Couric demanded. "Why are they waiting for John McCain and not Barack Obama? ... Can you give us any more examples of his leading the charge for more oversight?"

The beauteous Sarah had cited McCain's prescient warnings about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. But Couric, the crackerjack journalist who didn't know FDR wasn't president in 1929, demanded more examples from Palin.

We are currently in the middle of a massive financial crisis brought on by Fannie Mae. McCain was right on Fannie Mae; Obama was wrong. That's not enough?

Not for the affable Eva Braun of evening TV! "I'm just going to ask you one more time," Couric snipped, "not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation?"

This would be like responding to someone who predicted the 9/11 attacks by saying: OK, you got one thing right. Not to belabor the point, but what else?

Obama was not merely wrong on Fannie Mae: He is owned by Fannie Mae. Somehow Obama managed to become the second biggest all-time recipient of Fannie Mae political money after only three years in the Senate. The biggest beneficiary, Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd, had a 30-year head start on receiving loot from Fannie Mae -- the government-backed institution behind our current crisis.

How does the Democratic ticket stack up on other major issues facing the nation, say, gas prices?

Shockingly, Sen. Joe Biden was one of only five senators to vote against the first Alaskan pipeline bill in 1973. This is like having been a Nazi sympathizer during World War II. If Sarah Palin does nothing else, she has got to tie that idiotic pipeline vote around Biden's neck.

The Senate passed the 1973 Alaskan pipeline bill by an overwhelming 80-5 vote. Only five senators voted against the pipeline on final passage. Sen. Biden is the only one who is still in the Senate -- the other four having been confined to mental institutions long ago.

The stakes were clear: This was in the midst of the first Arab oil embargo. Liberal Democrats, such as senators Robert Byrd, Mike Mansfield, Frank Church and Hubert Humphrey, all voted for the pipeline.

But Biden cast one of only five votes against the pipeline that has produced more than 15 billion barrels of oil, supplied nearly 20 percent of this nation's oil, created tens of thousands of jobs, added hundreds of billions of dollars to the U.S. economy and reduced money transfers to the nation's enemies by about the same amount.

The only argument against the pipeline was that it would harm the caribou, an argument that was both trivial and wrong. The caribou population near the pipeline increased from 5,000 in the 1970s to 32,000 by 2002.

It would have been bad enough to vote against the pipeline bill even if it had hurt the caribou. A sane person would still say: Our enemies have us in a vice grip. Sorry, caribou, you've got to take one for the team. But when the pipeline goes through and the caribou population sextuples in the next 20 years, you really look like a moron.

We couldn't possibly expect Couric to ask Biden about a vote that is the equivalent of voting against the invention of the wheel. But couldn't she have come up with just one follow-up question for Biden on FDR's magnificent handling of the 1929 stock market crash?

Or here's a question the public is dying to know: "If Obama wanted a historically delusional vice president, why not Lyndon LaRouche?" At least LaRouche didn't vote against the Alaskan pipeline.

It is possible that the mainstream media's hold on the dissemination of information is still great enough to allow them to fool enough of the American people to put the little messiah and his semi-literate sidekick in the White House.

However this situation will not endure. The percentage of the population whose primary source of news is the daily newspaper and the nightly network newscast is aging and dwindling.

Katie Couric can turn the CBS Evening News into a satellite office of the Obama campaign but the number of people who are paying attention to anything she and her MSM colleagues are saying is growing smaller every year.

Just as European demographics are turning Europe into a Muslim continent American demographics are turning the USA into a politically conservative nation.

In addition to the fact that younger people are less likely to bother with the old media as a source of information there is also the abortion factor.

Abortion mills kill around one million children per year. The vast majority of the victims of this medical holocaust are racial minorities and most are the children of single mothers. Half of them are female.

One of the best ways to guarantee that a woman will live below the poverty line is to make her a single mother. One of the best ways to guarantee that a child will never live up to his or her full potential or even wind up with a criminal record is to place him or her in a single parent family which lives below the poverty line.

Which political party are women, minorities, the poor and criminals most likely to vote for?

Educated and affluent liberals tend to have few or no children. Conservatives at all levels of income and education tend to have two or more children.

Conservatives are breeding greater numbers while liberals are aborting themselves to extinction.

There's a conflict of interest? Then turn it around on them

NEW YORK (AP) - PBS journalist Gwen Ifill, moderator of the upcoming vice presidential debate, dismissed conservative questions about her impartiality because she is writing a book that includes material on Barack Obama.

Ifill said Wednesday that she hasn't even written her chapter on Obama for the book "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama," which is to be published by Doubleday on Jan. 20, 2009, the day a new president is inaugurated.

"I've got a pretty long track record covering politics and news, so I'm not particularly worried that one-day blog chatter is going to destroy my reputation," Ifill said. "The proof is in the pudding. They can watch the debate tomorrow night and make their own decisions about whether or not I've done my job."

The day before the Joe Biden-Sarah Palin debate, columnist Michelle Malkin wrote in the New York Post about Ifill's book, saying "she's so far in the tank for the Democratic presidential candidate, her oxygen delivery line is running out."

In its online description of the book, Doubleday says that Ifill "surveys the American political landscape, shedding new light on the impact of Barack Obama's stunning presidential campaign and introducing the emerging young African American politicians forging a bold new path to political power."

The McCain campaign found out about Ifill's book in the last day or so, a spokesman said.

Ifill said Obama's story, which she has yet to write, is only a small part of the book, which discusses how politics in the black community have changed since the civil rights era. Among those subjects is Colin Powell, secretary of state in the Bush administration.

The host of PBS'"Washington Week" and senior correspondent on "The NewsHour" said she did not tell the Commission on Presidential Debates about the book. The commission had no immediate comment when contacted by The Associated Press. A spokeswoman for John McCain's campaign did not immediately return phone and e-mail messages.

Here's the thing. If Obama sins Ms. Ifill's book is a best seller and she goes on a big book tour with appearances on Opra, the Sunday shows and the morning news shows all to help promote the book.

If Obama loses she gets an interview on Olbermann and Air America then after a week the book hits the discount bins and it doesn't even earn back her advance.

In other words this stupid woman has a very large financial stake in Obama's election.

Add to this her mocking treatment of Sarah Palin ever since McCain announced her as his running-mate and you have a picture of a woman who has zero chance of coming anywhere within ten light-years of being "fair and balanced".

Despite this I DO NOT call for her to be replaced as the debate moderator.

The fact is that there is NOBODY that PBS would even consider (I mean really consider, not pretend to consider) for the post of debate moderator who would hate Sarah Palin any less than Ifill does or who would be any less biased than Ifill will be.

But with Ifill it is out in the open. Sure she says that she is going to ber even handed but no one believes her. Polls show that over 70% of the American people believe that Ifill will be attempting to help Biden win the debate.

Under these circumstances all Governor Palin will have to do to be seen as the winner is avoid running from the stage in tears. Thanks to talk radio and the blogs everyone watching tonight's debate will know about Ifill's massive conflict of interest. Every tough question she asks Mrs. Palin, even if it is totally legitimate, will be seen as proof of her bias just as will every softball she tosses Biden.

If PBS pulls Ifill and replaces her with another of their left-wing "journalists" the new person will just sit down with Ifill and study her prepared list of "gotcha" questions for the governor than ask them him or herself. Only the left-wing media will spin them as the perfectly appropriate questions of an unbiased reporter and all too many in the general public will swallow the lie.

Let Ifill stay and let her presence taint the debate in the minds of the vast majority of viewers. That way if Mrs. Palin does poorly, and she might if the campaign refuses to let her be herself and instead shackles her to the McCain talking points, most viewers will see it as the product of a corrupt process rather than a deficiency of the candidate.

And if the campaign has gotten the message and freed the Governor to be herself she will wipe the floor with Biden the walking gaffe machine and her victory will be seen as one achieved against almost insurmountable odds.

Once again the blind stupidity of the left is proving to be their own worst enemy.
