First and foremost never ever under any circumstance assimilate. Assimilation is for the white man. Besides why should you assimilate when Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexico are really land stolen from Mexico? It's brown town now baby. Let whitey learn your ways. Never mind the fact that whitey came from ignorant and impoverished immigrants. Assimilation had nothing to do with the white man's success. He got where he's at today by exploiting brown peoples.

When looking for other ethnic groups to emulate never consider anyone from European roots. Simply group them under the category of 'whites' and make sure you say 'white' with contempt. Put the emphasis on the "wh". Even though they control the country and are largely successful always tell yourself that they are the enemy and have nothing to teach you. Stay arrogant. It will endear you to the powers that be. And forget about emulating the path of the Asian. Ignore and always conveniently leave them out of diatribes about racial conspiracies. Their wild success in spite of their clear racial differences and poverty will only take away from your whining and excuse making for your poor performance.

Speaking of race always identify your race as 'Latino' or 'Hispanic' even though they are not racial categories. So what if they are ethnic categories. You're setting the rules now cholo. If you say your race is Latino than that's what your are. If forced to give a color say 'brown' even if you are in fact white. Take a page out of homie's book when it comes to how you live your life. Always blame "the man" and always choose games, gimmicks, pranks and criminal activity over sobriety, personal responsibility and individual initiative.

Try showing up in any other country on the planet, illiterate and penniless, and announcing: "I've seen pictures of your country and it looks great. I think I'd like to live here! Oh, and by the way, would you mind changing all your government and business phone messages, street signs and ballots into my native language? Thanks!" They would laugh you out of the country.

What seems not to have occurred to the "NO HUMAN BEING IS ILLEGAL" crowd is that this is a country, not a public park.

There are more than 6 billion people in the world, many of whom apparently like the idea of living in the wealthiest democracy on Earth. But if the billions of people of the world did live here, it wouldn't be "here" anymore. America is special for a reason that must transcend the right to vote -- or everyone would be trying to immigrate to Iraq right now.

Will Spain Step Up?

TWENTY-NINE people were charged by a Spanish judge yesterday for their roles in the 2004 Madrid train bombings, paving the way for one of Europe's biggest terrorism trials. Following a two-year investigation, Judge Juan del Olmo concluded that the 11 March attacks, which killed 191 people and injured 2,000 others, were carried out by a local Islamist cell inspired by al-Qaeda.

Mr del Olmo charged five people with 191 counts of terrorist killings and 1,755 attempted murders, while 23 people were charged with collaboration. Each count of terrorist murder could carry a sentence of up to 30 years in prison.

José Emilio Suárez Trashorras, a former miner who provided the bombers with plastic explosives, was charged with 192 murders, including the death of a policeman killed during a raid on suspected bombers a few weeks after the attacks.

It will be interesting to see if the Spanish have the guts to convict these animals. Given their history I can easily see them being freed. Especially if there are threats of terrorism if their trail goes forward.

Abu Ghraib, is this Moonbat porn?

A civil liberties group on Tuesday demanded the release of more pictures of U.S. soldiers and detainees after the government acknowledged it had only one new Abu Ghraib prison picture because the rest were already public.

Hours after the acknowledgement by the Department of Defense, the American Civil Liberties Union said the government must now turn over 29 more photographs and two videotapes related to the treatment of detainees in U.S . custody.

ACLU lawyer Amrit Singh said the organization learned of the images, apparently not taken at Abu Ghraib, when the Army turned over documents late last year in response to an ACLU lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.

"It became apparent to us there were no grounds for holding additional abuse pictures," she said, noting that the judge presiding over the case had issued a strongly worded opinion saying the public had a right to detainee abuse images.

What good this will do, or what the public will gain from seeing additional torture photos is not quite clear to me. Some are starting to think the left have some strange fetish for Abu Ghraib photos.

They're not going to stop till they get those pictures of Lindie England doing it doggy-style with her boyfriend in front of the prisoners.

Business and the Illegals

Businesses, at least some of them, want lax border control because they depend on cheap illegal labor to lower their costs. They reason that as long as a plentiful supply of illegal aliens is available they can not only hire the illegals, but their very presence will exert a downward pressure on the wages of those here legally.

Business owners and managers who think this way are part of the behind-the-scenes effort to manipulate congressional Republicans into scrapping the House immigration reform bill in favor of an amnesty plan dressed up as a “guest worker program”. They oppose any effort to make being in this country illegally a felony and they go positively ballistic at the suggestion that there should be tough penalties for knowingly hiring an illegal.

They had better rethink their position. Any legislation which granted legal status to those currently here illegally and made it easier for more foreign workers to enter legally would doubtless backfire on those who exploit the labor of illegals.

If you own a meat packing plant now and you are paying illegals $6.00 per hour rather than legal, unionized, workers $20.00 per hour what will happen to your bottom line when those newly legal workers get a union card to go along with their green card?

What will you do when the woman who scrubs your toilet for minimum wage, or less, because she is illegal and wants to stay under the government’s radar suddenly becomes legal and wants the same money that a White or Black maid would get?

Illegal alien labor is a bargain only because it is illegal. Take away that illegal status and all you have left is an illiterate worker who doesn’t know the language but who does know that he doesn’t have to work nearly as hard anymore because you can’t fire him now that he has the EEOC backing him up. If he has never heard of the EEOC believe me there will be no shortage of people waiting to tell him (in English or Spanish).

Let’s also pause to consider what your new, much larger, tax bill is going to do to your profits when the Democrat politicians that these 10+ million new minority voters will elect come to power. And make no mistake about it vote Democrat he will. There is simply no way that the Republican Party can match the benefits that the Democrats will be willing to shower upon the newly legal.

We should not pass the topic of what the new Democrat majority will do to American business without also considering the effect of the new Green Regime on your waste disposal and transportation costs.

If you want a good picture of what the new socialized business environment will look like just cast your gaze over the pond and observe the goings on in France.

Take my advice and think long and hard before you open Pandora’s Box.

Another reason to hate soccer (as if you needed another one)

Is there any international organization that is not contaminated by anti-Israeli sentiment founded on the denial of the humanity of Isreali Jews and ultimately on anti-semitism? If there is, that organization isn't FIFA, the body that governs international soccer. As Tom Gross reports for NRO, FIFA has condemned Israel for an air strike on a soccer field in the Gaza Strip used for training exercises by Islamic Jihad and the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, but has refused to condemn a Palestinian rocket attack on an Israeli soccer field last week. To add to the injustice, the Israeli attack occurred when the field was empty. The Palestinian attack occurred when the field was being used. It injured one person and resulted in several people, including children being treated for shock.

FIFA holds itself out as a non-political organization. This, apparently, is its excuse for having turned a blind eye to wide- ranging atrocities pertaining directly to soccer. These include the torture by Saddam's son of Iraqi soccer players after their failure to advance to the World Cup finals; the Taliban's use of U.N.-funded soccer fields to slaughter and flog hundreds of innocent people before a mass audience; the decision to name a Palestinian soccer tournament after a suicide terrorist who murdered 31 people at a Passover celebration; and a suicide bombing in Haifa which injured three officials from the leading Israeli soccer team Maccabi Haifa. It's also FIFA's excuse for permitting Iran, a sponsor of terrorism with a Holocaust denying president, to participate in the upcoming World Cup. FIFA's excuse for not including anti-semitism (a feature at soccer matches throughout Europe) in its "kick racism out of football" campaigns is not clear, but anti-semitism on the part of FIFA itself is a prime suspect.

All of which brings to mind the title of Jed Babbin's book -- "Inside the Asylum: Why the UN and Old Europe Are Worse Than You Think." In reality the rest of the world and its organizational bodies are worse than you think too. By the way, the Associated Press reported the Israeli attack but not that of the Palestinians. It's also worse than you think.

Stupid Prosecutor Tricks

In a startling move, a special prosecutor investigating the leak of a CIA operative's identity retreated yesterday from an assertion that news outlets and critics of the administration seized on as evidence that President Bush and Vice President Cheney deliberately distorted a crucial intelligence summary on Iraq.

The prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, claimed in a court filing last week that a former White House aide facing criminal charges for obstructing the probe, I. Lewis Libby, said he was told by Mr. Cheney to inform a New York Times reporter that one of the key judgments of a 2002 National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq was that the country was "vigorously trying to procure" uranium.

While the intelligence report indeed alleged that Iraq was aggressively seeking nuclear materials, that finding was not among the key judgments contained in the document's early pages. The allegation that Mr. Cheney told Mr. Libby to misstate that fact to the Times journalist, Judith Miller, was noted prominently in some news accounts and contributed to an uproar that threw the White House into a tailspin last week.

However, in a letter yesterday, Mr. Fitzgerald advised the judge overseeing the case, Reggie Walton, that the government's April 5 filing was inaccurate. "We are writing to correct a sentence," Mr. Fitzgerald's letter begins. He told the judge an error occurred in the following statement: "Defendant understood that he was to tell Miller, among other things, that a key judgment of the NIE held that Iraq was 'vigorously trying to procure' uranium."

The prosecutor said the government brief should have said, "Defendant understood that he was to tell Miller, among other things, some of the key judgments of the NIE, and that the NIE stated that Iraq was 'vigorously trying to procure' uranium."

The only thing surprising about this is that it came before, rather than after, the November elections. Usually the truth, if it comes out at all, doesn’t come out until it is too late to help Republicans.

The Deery Inn

This is the old Deery Inn in Blountville, TN. It was built in 1785 by Mr. Deery and has hosted some notable figures from American history. Like Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson and James K Polk. The scaffolding is part of a much needed restoration being preformed by the Sullivan Co. Preservation Society.

The Deery Inn saw continuous operation as an inn until 1929. It was, of course, upgraded with the addition of indoor plumbing and electricity as they became available.

Turning her attention from Iraq to Iran, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan insists the U.S. has no justification for any kind of military response to the emerging nuclear threat from Iran, which today declared it successfully has enriched uranium.

Writing in the left-wing Buzzflash.com, Sheehan said that after a war in Iraq, President Bush, the "swaggering imbecile of a 'leaker in chief' has the nerve to be trying to sell all of us on a new war in Iran."

"Do the warped neocons with their puppet president think that we are all stupid? Fool us once, shame on us, fool us, — well, we just can't be fooled again," she writes.

Iran announced today it has enriched uranium for the first time, a major development in its plan to develop nuclear fuel. A story in the New Yorker by journalist Seymour Hersh, quoting anonymous sources, indicated the White House is preparing contingency plans that include the possibility of using nuclear bunker-buster bombs to take out Iranian underground facilities.
Sheehan said the U.S. possession of nuclear weapons is "crazy, but talking about deploying them is sheer insanity."

She fears this could lead to a world war.

"With all of the 'Left Behind' religious fanatics praying for Armageddon, this thought is made even scarier by the fake believers in the White House who are exploiting the neo-Christian idea that Jesus was a war monger and anything our great leader does is okay, because he is a Christian man!" she declares.

The U.S. also "must not even, for one moment, contemplate a conventional invasion in Iran either," she said. "No matter how George Bush lies about how rosy things are in Iraq, they aren't, and Iraq is proof that war of any kind is a horribly tragic way to solve problems."
She said the U.S. "must elect leaders that will get at the root causes of terrorism and not pretend that every terrorist can ever be killed to satisfy some kind of primeval bloodlust that flows through the war machine's veins."

"When our leaders go terrorist hunting," she said, "they kill innocent men, women and children and they, themselves, become the very thing that they are trying to teach us to loathe."
Heh, gotta love it, when a commie kisser thinks they know whats best for America. Will she ever go away, or has she become a staple spectacle and voice for the left? I hope she sticks around for a while because she is quite some ludicrous entertainment. The only thing that would be more entertaining would be Chris Matthews running for Senate in PA.

I was able to take enough time this afternoon to go to the Biltmore house and renew my anual pass. This month they are having their Festival of Flowers. I was able to slow down enough when driving past the garden to snap this out the window. This weekend I will return and get some more picurues.

Anti-War Hostages Air-Dropped Back into Iraq

The British military announced today that they had air-dropped former hostages Norman Kembler, James Loony and Harmeet Singh Sooden into the Iraqi desert, just a week after their rescue from a house west of Baghdad. The men had been held by insurgents for four months.

Since their release, the three men, all from a Christian Peacemaker team, have spoken with deep admiration and respect for their captors, while not offering any degree of gratitiude to the British commandos who risked their lives to save them.

"We realize now that we made a huge mistake," said Captain Ian Coates of the British Army, "and it was time to return these men to the people they love and respect."

Coates wistfully related the story of how the former hostages were told of the decision to reunite them with their brethren in Iraq. "To keep it a surprise, we used our commandos to gather the men in the middle of the night," he said. "They were so surprised and excited that we needed to duct tape their mouths and tie them up. But there was no doubt that they were overjoyed to be returning to Iraq.

Their eyes were as big as saucers, and Kembler even wet his jammies in excitement!"

The men were whisked by military jet back to a British Military base in Kuwait, and flown by helicopter into Iraq at dawn. Captain Coates struggled to keep his composure as he described the reunion.

"The air drop was a remarkable moment, something I was honored to see," he said. "The men were writhing around, screaming and crying with joy. There wasn't a dry eye in the helicopter as we rolled them out."

The British Military was concerned that the men would not be picked up quickly, leaving them to wander in the dessert. So each man was given a bright red parachute emblazoned with one of the famed Danish Mohammed cartoons.

"The cartoons really did the trick," said Captain Coates. "As they drifted downward, you could see the insurgents gathering to welcome them. Some had even set fires to help guide them as they landed. We could hear the chants of welcome even over the whir of the rotors. Did you ever see Born Free? It was like that, but better."

Coates would not comment on reports that the three men were all wearing "Jesus Rules, Mohammed Drools" T-Shirts.

24, 4/10/06

I’d like to post something witty about tonight’s episode of 24, but I really can’t. Within the context of the show it was a tightly written episode. Of course everyone knew that the bratty daughter would dial 911 and get herself and her mom killed.

I also suspected that the bank president was toast when he said that he was going to stick close to Jack Bauer. There are only two places in the universe more dangerous than anywhere near Jack Bauer. One is anywhere between Chuck Schumer and a TV camera and the other is between Ted Kennedy and a bottle of Scotch (or a cocktail waitress, so that makes three places).

Mary Todd Weasel is going to be really pissed when she finds out that Pres. Weasel is a traitor. After all she apologized and she is getting ready to put out for him. I still think that the way this ends is her snatching Red Foreman’s sidearm and blowing his head off.

Julie Myers turns out not to be such a bad egg after all, but Slick Greasy is going to have to die before all this plays out. With any luck Chloe will get out her assault rifle. . .

The Evil Vice President isn’t such a bad guy after all. I guess he is a Methodist rather than a Baptist. But I’ll bet he still is an NRA member.

Once S4GF clues in her dad everything will be alright. That guy’s sneer could strip the whitewash off a fencepost at 25 yards. President Weasel will dissolve under its power.
Now I’m going to bed. The twelve-year-old bourbon is kicking in and I’m sleepy.

The camera has arrived

As you can see from the post below my new digital camera arrived today. It is an Olympus FE-115 and so far I am extremely pleased. It is a tiny little thing; small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. I'll be putting up more pictures from now on. I hope to be able to go to the Biltmore House this Sunday afternoon.

Also, I apologize for not posting too much today. I had to start on the summer ritual of lawn mowing. That meant changing the blade on the mower and changing the oil and air filter. Which meant a trip to Lowes.

Then the camera came and had to be played with. Then I had to clean my Glock (guns are like women, in that they will take care of you if you take care of them).

Now I have to go. It is less than one half hour until tonight's episode of 24!

I shot that NRA target in practice. This is why I'm not all
that satisfied with my performance. I should have gotten all
10 ring hits in the match.

An audience and a timer do affect the way one shoots.

Republicans and the Illegals

From The Washington Times:

President Bush yesterday blamed Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid for blocking compromise legislation to overhaul the nation's immigration system, even though the president never endorsed the bill and many of his fellow Republicans openly opposed it.

The question which has so many people puzzled is this. Why are the President and so many Republican congressional leaders so determined to pass an amnesty for illegal aliens when not only the Republican base, but the American public in general, are against it?

In the case of the Democrats it is easy to see why they want to pack as many Mexicans into the country as possible. Votes. By adding Mexicans to the coalition of minorities which make up their party they hope to forge a working majority which will return them to power and keep them there for the next century, at least.

Surprisingly the Republicans think the same thing. They see the Mexicans as a group which can be brought into the Republican tent. Why do they believe this, when Mexican-Americans overwhelmingly vote for Democrats? Well, the Mexican’s are mostly Roman Catholic and Catholics are moving into the Republican Party in large numbers and President Bush had some success in getting Hispanic votes in Texas, pulling over 30% in his last statewide race.

Mexicans are also family oriented. Most of them marry young and have several children. Married adults with children tend to vote Republican in large numbers.

It is unquestionable that Mexican’s embrace of Church and family forms an important part of their worldview. However the temptations which the Democrats are prepared to dangle in front of the Mexican community will almost certainly prove irresistible.

Remember what happened to the Black community. 100 years ago Blacks were church going and family oriented. The illegitimacy rate among Blacks was a little bit higher than for Whites, but was lower than the illegitimacy rate for middle class Whites is today. Today the illegitimacy rate for Blacks is around 60% and is higher than that in some areas. What happened is that the welfare state created incentives for irresponsible behavior.

The payoff for the Party of the Left is a voting block of around 90% for Democrats. That they have destroyed the Black family and turned the Black community into a dependant class spoon fed on a diet of race hatred, victimization and entitlement matters not one bit. That American Blacks once produced leaders like Fredrick Douglass, W.E.B Dubois, George Washington Carver and Booker T. Washington and today pathetic jokes like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are what pass for Black leadership is irrelevant. All that matters is that they can be relied upon on Election Day.

The same thing will happen to Mexican illegals if their presence in this nation is legalized. The Republicans will say, “Now that you are legal we invite you to participate in the American Dream through hard work and conservative values”. The Democrats will say, “This land was stolen from your ancestors by White European invaders and you have been oppressed by White racism ever since so you are owed a living in compensation”.

Human nature being what it is the Democrats will win. The newly legal Mexicans will flock to the Jackass Party who will then have a ruling majority that will last well into the next century.

The President should see this, but he is blinded by the success that he had winning Hispanic voters in Texas. However Texas in not like the rest of America. A liberal Texas Democrat would be considered a raving right-wing conservative in Manhattan. What plays in Texas will not play in Blue-State America.

Congressional Republicans should see this but they have developed Washington Myopia, a form of mental illness characterized by an inability to see past the Beltway. This tends to make those who suffer from it slaves to the Washington Post and the New York Times.

The average American living in fly-over country sees the situation clearly. This leads them to oppose amnesty by a large majority. This leads them to demand tough border security and view any proposed “guest worker program” with suspicion.

Will American common sense win out over Washington politics?

Here is the latest outrage from the so called "religion of peace."

April 4 (Compass Direct) – "If you are forcing me to marry a man who is a Muslim simply because of my decision to become a Christian, then I will rather have you kill me than accept to marry this man."

These were the bitter words of Jamila Noma, now 16, to her father, Malam Noma, in an Islamic court two years ago in Jimeri village in Bauchi State of northern Nigeria.
The girl had been arrested by the police and brought before an Islamic court on the orders of her father when she became a Christian and rejected his decision to marry her off to Muslim man.

These two years have left her in an uncertain situation. The court has not decided the case, she has been disowned by her father and he has forced her out of the family home. She is staying with her lawyer, Suleiman Wurno.

Noma said that her father is a pagan, with a family made up of six wives and 16 children. She is the last of six children of her mother.

Noma first desired to become a Christian two years ago, after hearing the gospel preached in her village church. "The pastor in the church had preached to us repeatedly," she recalled. "I knew that I was a sinner and decided that I wanted to become a Christian."
Noma knew it would be difficult, though, as two of her brothers had faced hardship from their father when they decided to become Christians.

"Yohanna, one of my brothers, faced difficulties too when he became a Christian – he was disowned by our dad and sent out of the family home," she said.

Her opportunity to make a decision came when she went to visit her maternal uncle, "Pastor Idi," she recalled. "My uncle shared the gospel with me, and I knew that that was the moment I was waiting for, the moment to receive Christ as my Lord and Savior, and so, I prayed to receive Christ," she said.

The story goes on to tell about how the man whom her father was trying to force her to marry, attempted to rape her several times, how her dad turned her into the police, how she was convicted under Sharia law, and her escape. Make sure to read the entire heart breaking story.
Religious liberty, and women's rights are completely non-existent in the culture of Islam. Until this can be reconciled in the Muslim culture, world civilization can not take the next step forward, and Islam will continue to live in the dark ages. For all those "tolerant" dhimmi apologists out there, I'd love to hear where you stand on this one.

Glock Match

I shot my second Glock match today. My score improved from 404 to 424 out of a possible 500. At least there is upward progress.

The best score was shot by a young woman named Dana, who shot 500 out of 500.

I got a note from Amazon.com telling me that my digital camera shipped Friday. When it gets here I'll post a picture of the target.

Though most Americans are far more conservative than anyone living or working in Washington DC today, the conservative movement finds itself playing defense to a long list of socialist anti-American aggressors. No, not the Soviet block or Red China, but your friendly DNC Headquarters, their minions in the press, and your next door neighbors, many of whom are unaware of their socialist standing. These aggressors are growing impatient as they become ever more desperate and there is officially no limit to what they are willing to try in their quest to regain political
power.

Despite a variety of unparalleled challenges to American life and liberty, the direct result of eight years of irresponsible gross mismanagement under the panty-raid administration of the 90’s, the Bush administration has managed to prevent 911 follow-up attacks, liberated 24 million in Afghanistan from the brutality of the Taliban and Al Qaeda, another 25 million from the brutality of the Hussein Regime in Iraq, delivered the lowest unemployment rate and the highest home ownership rate, while leading the country to record numbers in the stock market. Yet the Administrations approval rating stands between 36 and 39%, according to the press. How is that possible?

It’s possible because the press doesn’t report any of the facts I just listed. What they do report is whatever Bush Administration adversaries want them to report. The average American relies upon the mamestream press for their daily dose of “reality”, but reality is not what they are
getting.

Americans awake each day to a daily body count of soldiers lost in combat in Iraq. It’s usually the top headline of every paper, TV news show and NPR update throughout each day, for the last 1100 days in a row. There are no headlines of how many innocent Iraqi citizens didn’t die at the hand of Hussein, that would have had we not removed him from power. There are no reports of how many schools, hospitals, businesses and jobs have re-opened in Iraq. No stories about kids playing soccer in the streets with American soldiers, who once were imprisoned for their parent’s anti-Hussein views. Just a running body count, as if that tells the entire story, because that is the entire story for those seeking to regain political power by undermining any support for their opponents.

This is all true, and this is why I call the mainstream media the Democrat Party’s Ministry of Propaganda and Enlightenment.

Trouble for Airbus?

But I thought that Airbus was going to reign supreme after Boeing was bankrupted by Arab nations canceling all their orders and transferring the business to Airbus in the fallout from the Port Deal.

More on the illegals

Born Again Redneck has an excellent post up about "the other illegal immigrants" who ruined his neighborhood back in San Francisco. Here is a portion:

The census figures don't count illegal immigrants so there's no way of knowing how many non-Mexican illegals there are but I observed enough in my 25 years in San Francisco to know that there are large numbers of illegals from Russia and Ireland many of whom contrive to get city-provided welfare as well as making money "under the table" in restaurant jobs (which I know about first-hand having been in that business.)

Then there are the illegals from Asia. The immigrants from India and the Phillipines are usually skilled workers - IT specialists, nurses etc - and they come legally. But there are many illegals from China.

Fifteen years ago I bought a house in the Sunset District. At that time the population of that San Francisco neighborhood was about two-thirds white, mostly working class folk of Irish and Italian descent and it was a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood with good schools. The remaining third were Chinese and Phillipino legal skilled workers.

By the time I sold my house 12 years later (to Chinese for nearly three times what I had paid for it) most of the Irish and Italians had also sold their houses (that had once cost them $50,000 25 years ago) to Chinese for $500,000 and moved to middle-class suburbs out of the city. The Sunset District is now two-thirds Chinese and those same houses sell for $750,000.

Soon after we moved there, the house next door to us was bought by a wealthy businessman from Hongkong. We saw him and his wife a few times when they first bought it and then they disappeared and ten or more people moved into the two bedroom house, some even living in the garage. None of them spoke English. They hacked up snot and spat it on the side-walk, killed and gutted chickens on their front stoop and owned so many cars that our guests could no longer find parking on the street when they came to visit us.

This sample alone does not do justice to the entire essay. I highly recommend that you go and read the entire thing.

What illegal immigrants are doing to San Francisco they will do to the entire nation. I see it happening in my old home town. Marion, NC is being overrun with illegals, mostly Mexican, and is becoming a sewer.

We have one more chance. The Senate is on break having failed to pass any kind of amnesty bill. We have to let them know that no legislation which allows those here illegally to remain, under any set of circumstances, is acceptable.

Good News!

I got this today; it is good news indeed. As I strongly suspected the case turned out to be nothing. I want to thank all of my readers who pitched in and did what they could.

Dear Friends of Angel,

Angel had his day in court today. His attorney and the prosecutors had worked out an agreement, which the judge accepted. Here are the results.

The judge overseeing the case ordered the police to give Angel's guns back, but he must register the handguns in compliance with Michigan law (euphemistically called a "safety inspection", but it is clearly registration, a law adopted in the 20s to keep guns out of the hands of Blacks). The only charges on the table were four misdemeanor counts of failure to present a handgun for a safety inspection. The theoried charge discussed in the media and on the Net about "menacing" and threats was not advanced by prosecutors, because there was no substance to the theoried charge. Police and prosecutors figured this out after looking at the facts and evidence.

Angel will be on non-reporting probation on the failure to register charges for a year and a half. Angel will have on his record forever four misdemeanor violations of failure to present his handguns for "safety inspection". Angel must perform three days of community service, which will hold him in Michigan for almost a month (because they are court-scheduled days).

I've been saying for too long now that the attorneys have insisted on silence from anyone having inside information about this situation, because release of such information could very well have torpedoed the deal Angel's attorney had worked out with the prosecutors. Frankly, the prosecutors were not anxious to go to trial on this case, and Angel is too clearly a clean and good guy to be able to spin him as some dangerous nut case.

Now is probably time for me to confess a bit of an ulterior motive in all of this. Angel plans to move to Montana where can live under what legal scholar Dave Kopel calls the freest gun laws in the World (see Dave's Foreword to my book, Gun Laws of Montana), where he can go Prairie Dog hunting with my son Ty and myself, and where he will undertake the needful task of recruiting scads of members for MSSA. According to the plan, recruiting membership for MSSA will be Angel's vocation for the indefinite future. I suspect you may be hearing a pitch from Angel (an MSSA Member since 2003) to join MSSA (hey, a lot of our members don't live in Montana).

La Belle France part II

I found this on The American Thinker. Since I enjoy passing along bits of information which show the French as the utterly clueless morons that they are I present it to you in its entirety

An article in the British publiscation Business titled ‘Is France Ungovernable’ has some fascinating figures. We learn, for instance, that only 36% among the French believe that a free-market economy ‘is the best system on which to base the future of the world.’

In a glaring contrast 74% of the Chinese support capitalism which, as the article correctly states, is a system that theory and practice has shown to be immensely superior at generating and spreading wealth than socialism, fascism, extreme environmentalism or any other of the statist nostrums apparently favoured by the French population.

This is obvious and yet most French adults just cannot see it. And these dunces think of themselves as the most sophisticated and intellectual people around. So profound is their funk that they do not even see the connection between their non-capitalist policies and the economic trouble they are presently in. What do you think are the chances that the obvious remedy – making their economy more capitalistic – will occur to them? The solution they are likely to propose is more socialism… just watch.

It tells us something about American liberals that they admire and try to imitate these deeply troubled people. They would do much better to take a clue from those 74% Chinese who lack the sophistication that would prevent them from knowing the obvious.

The French, in fact, may the most confused people on earth. Even after the decades of communist indoctrination and brainwashing, the largely poor and un-free Chinese still know more about basic economics than those who think themselves the world’s smartest.

Anti-ACLU Thursday

How sick is the ACLU and those who associate themselves with it?

As legislative counsel for the ACLU in 1985, [Barry] Lynn told the U.S. Attorney General's Commission on Pornography...that child pornography was protected by the First Amendment. While production of child porn could be prevented by law, he argued, its distribution could not be. A few years later (1988), Lynn told the Senate Judiciary Committee that even requiring porn producers to maintain records of their performers' ages was impermissible.

Since children are legally unable to give consent to engage in sexual activity or to engage in any legal contract how can anyone have the legal right to distribute their image? I mean, if I need a signed consent form from a model to use his/her image for commercial purposes then how can the image of a child, who cannot legally give that consent, be used?

Of course sane societies base laws against the distribution of child pornography on principals more fundamental and important than those requiring models to sign release forms, however it is instructive to observe how eager their legislative counsel is to support its distribution.

Rob Roy

1671 - 1734

BY TURNS a thief and extortionist but also a daring hero, few men have been as celebrated in folk legend or literature as Robert Roy MacGregor. He was born in March 1671 in Glen Gyle in the southern Highlands, the third son of Donald Glas, a MacGregor chieftain, and Mary Campbell. From an early age he was given the nickname Ruadh, Gaelic for red because of the colour of his hair, later anglicised to Roy.
The MacGregors were Jacobites who supported the uprising of 1689 against Charles II. Both father and son fought in and survived the battle of Killiecrankie in July of that year. After the rebellion, Rob Roy turned away from politics. He married his cousin Mary of Comar in January of 1693 and, taking his mother's maiden name of Campbell because the name of MacGregor was banned beause of the part they played in the Jacobite uprising, started his own business dealing cattle under the patronage of the Duke of Montrose. He became very successful and earned the lands and title of Laird of Inversnaid in the process.
However, Rob Roy's success was undone in 1711 when, having borrowed the huge sum of £1000 from Montrose, his chief drover stole the money. Although Rob Roy tried to catch the culprit and promised to repay the loan, Montrose declared him to be a thief. He was made bankrupt, his lands were repossessed and he was forced to go on the run. Legend has it that when the soldiers came to evict the MacGregors his wife was branded and raped by the government men.
Rob Roy became an outlaw and pursued a vendetta against the Duke of Montrose. He rustled cattle, stealing the animals and extorting money from farmers to 'protect' them from other rustlers. The feud returned Rob Roy to the political stage by making him a friend of the Duke's enemies, who sheltered him from pursuit. At this time his generosity to the poor, especially those ill-used by the Duke of Montrose, earned him a reputation as a friend of the common man.
A small role in the uprising of 1715 led to charges of treason against Rob Roy, although this seems to have been based more on his reputation than his involvement. Rob Roy continued to plague the Duke of Montrose, who enlisted government support against him. He was captured at Balquhidder but escaped. He was captured again after the Duke of Atholl broke a pledge of safe passage and imprisoned in Dunkeld. Yet again he escaped, this time by bribing the guards.

When Daniel Defoe wrote a fictionalised account of his life in 1723 called Highland Rogue, Rob Roy became a legend in his own lifetime. His popularity with the public led to a pardon for his crimes from George I just as he was about to be transported to the colonies.
His life continued to fascinate artists after his death. The publication of Rob Roy by Sir Walter Scott in 1818 further added to his fame. William Wordsworth wrote a poem called Rob Roy's Grave during a visit to Scotland and he has been the hero of many films.
Rob Roy spent the last years of his life in peace at Balquhidder. He died on 28 December 1734 at his home at the age of 63 as a piper played I Shall Return No More. He was buried on New Year's Day at the Old Kirk Yard in Balquhidder 1735 and was survived by four sons. The inscription on his grave, added in the twentieth century, reads 'MacGregor Despite Them'.

Gotta love that Left

Victor Davis Hanson has a review of Peter Schweitzer’s new book, Do as I Say (Not as I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy. Here is a sample:

On issue after issue, Schweitzer demonstrates the emptiness of these famous leftists’ politics. For example, the evils of capitalism are routinely condemned, yet some of the most vocal of these critics are doing quite well exploiting the system they decry. MIT professor Noam Chomsky, arguably the most prominent and looniest of the loony left, has called capitalism a “‘grotesque catastrophe’ and a doctrine ‘crafted to induce hopelessness, resignation, and despair.’” Yet Chomsky is “himself a shrew capitalist, worth millions, with money in the dreaded and evil stock market, and at least one tax haven to cut down on those pesky inheritance taxes that he says are so important.” Apostles of economic redistribution via the income tax like Chomsky are very clever at making sure that somebody else’s nickel will fund their utopian schemes. Chomsky has set up an irrevocable trust to shelter his money, with his tax attorney and his daughter as trustees.

On racial issues too, these progressives may talk like angels, but they live like men. For all their professed love of “people of color” and anguish over racism, few of America’s most visible liberals actually live around or hire minorities –– even Cornel West, Princeton professor and wannabe rap star, lives in Newton, whose black population is about two percent, meaning Professor West is unlikely to be hanging out with the brothers in the backyard. When the Clintons came to Washington, they could have sent a powerful message of support for D.C. public schools by enrolling Chelsea in a neighborhood school like Jefferson or Hine. But of course, they enrolled her instead in the super-elite Sidwell Friends. Chomsky, who claims to be fond of fraternizing with the working class and “‘those considered to be riff-raff,’” as he puts it, has no intentions of actually living near any of them. About the time forced busing was imposed on the Boston area, Chomsky moved to the tony suburb of Lexington, buying a house worth nearly a million dollars. He also owns a vacation home in Wellfleet, worth $1.2. “Radical” author Howard Zinn “owns two homes in expensive lily-white Wellfleet and a third in multicultural Auburndale (minority population 3.3 percent).”
Like all rich people, rich liberals understandably want to live around and have their children associate with other rich people. But they at least can prove their commitment to diversity with their hiring choices, an opportunity on which most of them pass, including Congressional Democrats, who hire black employees at the same rate as Republicans do. Michael Moore has loudly chastised Hollywood for not hiring enough blacks. Yet Schweitzer’s survey of the 134 people who have worked on his films show a grand total of three black employees. Comedian Al Franken has criticized Republicans for being indifferent to black unemployment. But of “112 people whom Franken either hired directly or had a strong influence in determining whether they would work on a project,” only one was black. Another hectoring liberal, Barbara Streisand, has hired one black producer out of sixty-three producers and directors she’s employed since 1983. Even for a documentary she produced about gang violence in Washington, D.C., the producers and the director were white.

I think that this is hilariously funny. I am not surprised in the least that they are hypocrites, most leftist are, but that they think that they can get away with it reveals them to be idiots as well.

LAKELAND - When he wasn't sending pornographic movies to and asking for explicit photos from a teenage girl in Polk County, a Maryland man was bragging about his job as a spokesman at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, law enforcement officers said.

The revelation - actually made to a detective posing as a 14-year-old girl - resulted in the arrest of 55-year-old Brian J. Doyle at his Silver Spring, Md., home Tuesday night, officials said.
During his Internet chats, Doyle quickly revealed his name and job, and he sent his office and government-issued cell phone numbers. The information allowed detectives to quickly verify Doyle's identity, the Polk County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday night.

Doyle moved quickly in other regards, officials said, sending enough sexually explicit messages and movie clips that they were able to secure a warrant for his arrest on 23 felony counts roughly two weeks after he responded to the detective's profile.

Doyle has a first appearance hearing today at 1:00 p.m. in Montgomery County, Md., the Polk County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday morning.

The charges stem from Doyle repeatedly requesting the girl he was pursuing to purchase a Web camera so that she could send explicit images to Doyle, sheriff's spokeswoman Carrie Rodgers said. Doyle promised to reciprocate, she said.

He also sent numerous pornographic movie clips to the girl and used America Online's Instant Messenger program to carry on sexually laced conversations, a news release stated.
Maryland officials arrested Doyle at his home and seized his computer. It was unclear Tuesday whether Doyle used his office computer to carry out any of the conversations. He remains jailed awaiting extradition to Florida, Rodgers said.

"We take these allegations very seriously and will cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation," Department of Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke said.

Doyle, a deputy press secretary, has been at the department since it was created in 2002. He started as a spokesman at the Transportation Safety Administration.

The charges against Doyle are the second involving a Homeland Security official and alleged improper sexual conduct toward a minor in Central Florida in the past six months.

In October, Tampa's newly appointed Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent in charge, Frank Figueroa, was arrested in an Orlando shopping mall, accused of exposing himself to a teenage girl.

Figueroa is scheduled to appear in court this morning to enter a guilty plea in that case.

Every call to and from a government issued cell phone has to be accounted for and anything you do on your office computer can be monitored. In fact DHS employees sign a form granting blanket consent to have their homes searched so that there is no need to even get a warrant. How did this man think he was going to get away with anything like this?

Why the Libertarians don't matter

From a press release by the Libertarian Party:

"The American people should be wary of the Bush Administration's mounting rhetoric against Iran," stated Michael Dixon, chairman of the Libertarian Party. "If you treat someone as your enemy, they will be your enemy. It's time for the Bush administration to take a grown-up approach to foreign policy and stop playing the schoolyard bully."

The Libertarian Party understands the importance of a strong national defense; however it is rational enough to oppose preemptive warfare. This stance is clearly written within the party's platform: "The United States should not inject itself
into the internal matters of other nations, unless they have declared war upon or attacked the United States, or the U.S. is already in a constitutionally declared war with them."

Chairman Dixon continued by saying, "I stand by the Libertarian Party's platform and encourage the rest of America to do the same. We need reason within our nation, not rhetoric."

This is why the Libertarian Party is not to be taken seriously and I’m speaking as one who used to be a card carrying, dues paying member.

It always amazes me how some people (most people) are unable or unwilling to learn from history. If England and France had listened to Churchill and mobilized against Germany when Hitler first began rattling his saber his government would have fallen and there would have been no WWII and no Holocaust.

It seems that hardly a day goes by without some new revelation about the connections between al-Qaeda and Iraq. We now have a credible report that Saddam moved a substantial stockpile of chemical weapons to Syria and we know for a fact that he had active plans to restart his nuclear weapons program.

This doesn’t even begin to address the suffering the Iraqi people were enduring under Saddam’s rule.

Now we are told that we should make nice with Iran, which is deeply involved in developing nuclear weapons, on the theory that if we treat someone as an enemy they will be an enemy. Presumably if we treat them as friends they will be our friend.

Notice the complete disconnection with reality. Not even a hint of acknowledgment that Iran’s President (who is the wholly owned creature of the mullahs who really run the country and who could not say one word without their approval) is an insane fanatic who believes that the Muslim Messiah will return if only he can create enough chaos in the world (like by nuking Israel, say). He is a man who thinks that it would be a good thing if Israel nuked Iran in return because any Muslim who perished in that Jewish retaliatory strike would instantly go to Paradise and get his 72 virgins.

We should take no action to prevent a nation which is ruled by the criminally insane from getting weapons which can kill millions at a pop. All because, “warfare is the health of the state”. Well a 20 kiloton. airburst is the death of a city.

Another Modest Proposal

Immigration rights organizers today will call for a nationwide boycott of work, school and shopping on May 1 to protest congressional efforts to clamp down on illegal aliens as part of pending immigration-reform legislation. The "Great American Boycott of 2006" is only one in a series of large-scale events the protesters hope will sway lawmakers to put millions of illegal aliens on track toward permanent residency and U.S. citizenship.

I have another idea for a boycott. All Americans who do not want our government giving amnesty to illegal aliens and resent criminals rampaging through our streets demanding special privileges should, to the best of their ability boycott American produce.

I hear orange growers and dairy farmers calling in to the conservative radio talk shows saying that they absolutely need illegal aliens to work for them because they can’t find Americans who will do the work that they need doing. What they really are saying is that they can’t find Americans to do their work at the wages which they are willing to pay.

One dairy farmer even told Rush that if he couldn’t hire illegals he would just close his farm and sell the land to be used as a golf course. I have this to say to that farmer. Go ahead and sell your damn land. If it could be more profitably used as a golf course than a dairy farm then that is what it should be used for.

Farmers in our society are the ultimate welfare queens. They demand welfare through price supports and being paid not to grow. They are demanding welfare through artificially depressed labor costs, leaving the taxpayer to pick up the tab for the costs associated with illegal immigration.

Frankly it may be time to move the US agricultural industry out of the country. Most land in the US is more valuable as something other than a farm. Most farmers know this, but they don’t want to stop farming. They like it, they’re good at it and it is all they’ve ever done. So instead of inventing some way to make farming genuinely profitable they puff themselves up and declare themselves to be uniquely important and demand handouts from the rest of us.

Congress may have its hand too far into the pockets of ADM to stop the direct subsidies to agriculture, but the American people can damn well stand up and stop this under-the-table labor subsidy. So I’m asking the American people not to buy things that need illegal labor to harvest. What I hear mostly about is oranges and grapes. So no orange juice, unless you know that the oranges are imported and no California grapes, and that includes their overpriced and mediocre wine.

Think about it. If this got legs and the farmers were to see their precious lifestyle going circling the bowl do you not think that they would fall all over themselves certifying that their farms were staffed with 100% legal labor? And as a big part of the illegal’s job pool dried up many would go home and fewer would try to come here.

I can hear someone now pointing out that this would mean higher prices for produce. So what? Can’t American afford to pay a dollar more for a head of lettuce?

What will Mary Todd Weasel do when she finds out? Here's my prediction. In the end she will blow his head off with Red Foreman's side arm.

Slick Greasy, Julie Myers assistant, you know the Dick Morris of the DHS and Anita Hill the cute redhead who sees sexual harassers hiding behind every door. At some point before the end of the season they are going to be key players in some subplot.

In the northern suburbs of Atlanta, just inside Interstate 285, formerly middle-class shopping centers house businesses whose signs read in languages other than English. Some are Korean, Chinese, or Vietnamese, but the dominant language is Spanish. In the Chamblee-Doraville area a special bus service unloads passengers coming from Mexico; family members wait in the parking lot crowded with cars and trucks. On a Saturday night Mexican men in jeans and t-shirts and women pushing strollers maneuver six-lane highways on foot. Just before dusk, the area with apartment complexes and businesses surrounding the northernmost rail transit station is bustling with activity. Getting lost there on a way to a friend’s party, I felt like I had driven into a foreign land. I could not read the signs.

This, I think, is what it must have felt like for my parents when they first arrived in this country. Certainly no one translated signs into Slovenian for them or gave them government documents in their language. But today Spanish-speaking immigrants to Georgia expect to earn high school diplomas by taking the exams in Spanish. Billboards in Georgia advertise government services (welfare) in Spanish that have been available to illegal aliens.

In the three decades since I was fed the political correctness by teachers in my riot-torn high school, things have only gotten worse. The demonstrations have disrupted daily life and threatened public safety in cities like Los Angeles. But imagine billboards advertising welfare benefits for Slovenians or Ukrainians in native languages. Imagine Slovenians taking to the streets at the threat of denial of welfare for those who are in the country illegally. The image is preposterous. It would be preposterous even to the educators and radical groups who support the protests on behalf of the Spanish-speaking illegal immigrants. They have spent the last three decades working to instill the idea of this particularly visible group as
suffering special persecution. They have started with the most gullible—the young people, their students. And the masses have been emboldened to the point of taking to the streets and burning the flag of the country in which they live. Their claims to be part of the heritage of American immigration sound specious to this immigrant

But they have joined the American mainstream. They have become just another aggrieved minority walking about with their hand out and a chip on their shoulder.

SCOTTISH engineers are developing a gigantic "slingshot" to transport cargo to the moon as part of a European project to set up a base on the lunar surface.

Dr Gianmarco Radice and Professor Matthew Cartmell, from Glasgow University, have been given funding by the European Space Agency to develop their new system to send food, water and raw materials to the moon.

They claim that by attaching cargo to a set of giant cables orbiting the Earth it is possible to propel the materials to the moon with a fraction of the fuel needed to send it in rockets.

The system works by exploiting the centrifugal force that builds up when an object is in orbit. Radice claims cargo taken up by space shuttle from Earth can be offloaded onto an orbiting "tether". The huge cables, several kilometres long, will then spin around before propelling the cargo towards the moon.

If the cable is long enough and the orbital speed of the system is high enough, the cargo will undergo an acceleration process. A second "tether" orbiting the moon would catch the cargo and it could be retrieved by a short-range shuttle to be taken down to the lunar surface.

Nazi Art

IT HAS become a familiar story. The heirs of a Jewish art collector discover that paintings seized by the Nazis during the Second World War were never returned to the family. They start searching and, occasionally, they are lucky. A work is traced to a museum or spotted at an auction and, after lengthy negotiations, the rightful owners recover it or receive compensation.

The Jacques Goudstikker case is different. Goudstikker was Amsterdam's leading prewar collector and dealer in Dutch and Italian old masters before being killed in an accident while fleeing to a new life in the United States. Now leading art detectives have been hired by his heirs to track down more than 1,000 missing paintings which together are worth millions of pounds.

His descendants are just one of many families seeking belated justice for wartime looting. But only a handful of the depleted collections - among them, those of Alphonse Kann in France, the Viennese Rothschilds in Austria, the Herzogs in Hungary - are of a size comparable to that of Goudstikker.

The detective is Clemens Toussaint, a 45-year-old German art sleuth who is known in the trade as "Mr 50%", referring to his share of every art find.

This is an interesting story; proving once again that even sixty years later there is still plenty of unfinished business from the Second World War.

However, for me at least, the most interesting thing is this:

So far, he and his team have located around 100 works, and 32 cases have been resolved. Most have been found in either Germany or the US. "In Germany, we've had many restitutions, from museums in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Dresden, and Stuttgart," Toussaint said.

"But no American museum has returned a Goudstikker yet. We've approached at least 10. They think we can't run 10 lawsuits at the same time, so they just sit and wait. That's my analysis."

I can understand why German museums would give up the stolen art as quickly as they could. After all they want to put as much distance between themselves and their nation’s Nazi past as possible. However note the fact that American museums are holding on to their stolen artworks hoping that the rightful owners will not have the resources to press their claim.

Am I the only one who finds this reprehensible? It is one thing to have a piece of stolen property and not know it. Even though you would think that a museum would have the resources to research the provenance of its own collection. However once they have been made aware of the fact that they are in possession of a painting that had been looted by the Nazis and that the heirs of the rightful owner still live and want it back, to still cling to it is to willingly make yourself an accessory after the fact to the Nazi’s crimes.

American museums give back your stolen property and do it right now!

I’m sure that most of you have heard of the incident in which Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) physically assaulted a Capitol Hill Policeman. It seems that Ms. McKinney walked through a security checkpoint without stopping of showing any ID. The officer manning the checkpoint did not recognize her and pursued catching up with her to demand some identification. In response to this the Representative punched the officer. He intends to press charges and a warrant for her arrest is to be issued, if it hasn’t already.

Ms. McKinney has released the following statement:

I know that Capitol Hill Police are securing our safety, that of thousands of others, and I appreciate the work that they do. I deeply regret that the incident occurred. I have demonstrated my support for them in the past and I continue to support them now.

This made us here at Hillbilly White Trash curious about exactly how Congresswoman McKinney supports the Capitol Hill Police. So we decided to do some nosing around (“we” means me and my first cousin Cooter Calhoon, he’s from my mother’s side of the family, I think (its hard to tell since both sides of the family are named Calhoon).

It seems that the good congresswoman feels that the reason that the officer didn’t recognize her was that, “all us Black folks look alike to white trash crackers like him”. To address this problem Ms. McKinney has started an immersion program for Capitol Hill Police to bring them into close contact with the Black Community.

This is how the program works. Ms. McKinney has a substantial number of friends and financial contributors in the DC metropolitan area. Many of these individuals have businesses which service the Black community. Through Ms. McKinney’s good offices it has been arranged for Capitol Hill Police officers to volunteer their off duty time to these businesses in order to gain experience dealing with persons of color in an “up close and personal way”.

To see the program in action Cooter and I went out in the field to a lovely little section of the District called Capital City. Here we “rode along” with Mr. Obed Jamal, proprietor of A-1 Carpet Cleaning Service. Mr. Jamal is fielding a crew made up entirely of unpaid police volunteers.

“These White boys are saving me a bundle” he rumbles in his deep bass voice. “They are getting loads of valuable experience going right into Black homes. I just thank the Lord for the Congresswoman. I’ve been able to cut my payroll almost down to nothing. If it hadn’t been for her I’d be working Mexicans by now just to compete. So this is a patriotic thing, yeah patriotic.”

Similar scenes are being played out from Falls Church to Tyson’s Corners and even as far away as Baltimore as Ms. McKinney’s program expands. Back at the Congressional Office Building the Georgia Representative’s office bustles with activity as staffers field requests from an ever growing number of local businesses and match them with the finite number of Capitol Hill Police officers.

An excited aid confides in us that Ms. McKinney has attracted the attention of a number of philanthropic organizations and government social service agencies. In fact the Congresswoman has received at least 75 million dollars in various grants to help fund her program. In response to a request to interview Ms. McKinney we were told that she was in the process of moving into her new home on the banks of the Potomac River in Maryland. A quick set of directions and we were off.

Going up the long driveway to her beautiful new home we see a number of work crews landscaping the several hundred acres of the new McKinney estate. Many of the workers are wearing t-shirts with “Capitol Hill Police” or the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) logo so it seems that Ms. McKinney’s grounds keeping service is a participant in the program.

Inside the spacious house (thirty rooms, at least) Ms. McKinney is inspecting the newly remodeled bathroom in the master suite. The gleaming gold fixtures and polished Italian marble overwhelm the first-time visitor. After introducing ourselves Representative McKinney graciously agrees to take us on a tour.

While observing the installation of a 40’x30’ stained glass window in the banquet hall Ms. McKinney explains that it was a gift from Mayor Nagin of New Orleans. Apparently a church was flooded with several inches of water in the recent hurricane and the Mayor had it condemned on his own authority. He had spoken to the Representative from his new home in Houston, TX earlier about implementing a version of her program in New Orleans. The window is just a small gesture of gratitude for all her help.

Ms. McKinney is philosophical about her encounter with the Capital Hill officer. “That hillbilly cracker just didn’t know who he was messin’ with”, she says. “I hold no grudges, as long as he is fired and unable to ever work in law enforcement again I’ll be happy. Of course I’ll also need a public apology.”

When asked about how the idea for the program came to her she responds, “It just seemed like the right thing to do. I always support the police and I think it is about time that the police start supporting me”.

When we inquired about how the 75 million dollars in grant money was being spent Representative McKinney suddenly remembered an important committee meeting that she had to attend. As she saw us out she wished us well and asked that all other communications be directed through her attorney, for technical reasons. We still aren’t sure what that meant, but we sure did enjoy ourselves.

A win for the good guys

Back on March 29 our friend White Trash Republican posted this on her blog. It seems that her children’s school was sporting some posters, slick professionally done jobs, supplied by the Southern Poverty Law Center. For those of you who don’t know, the SPLC is a belfry in which nest a large number of especially vicious moonbats. These posters promoted “tolerance”. Apparently the posters are attractive and feature “quotes by notable Americans on them” which are not objectionable in and of themselves. Of course they also feature the web address of the SPLC and come with a teacher’s handbook on how to indoctrinate children into the hyper left-wing idea of “tolerance”.

This led to WTR going ballistic and having a “gentle and civil” conversation with her kid’s principal (and you thought that tremor you felt was the military testing that new 7000 ton explosive in Nevada). This led to the principal actually going to the SPLC’s website and seeing what they were really all about.

A phone call with fulsome apologies to WTR followed. Assurances that that organization’s values in no way reflect the values of her school, and I tend to believe this since the school in question is located in Missouri, not San Francisco.

What came of this was a compromise in which the school would keep the posters while blacking out the web address and name of the SPLC and no aspect of the leftist message of the SPLC will find its way into the school’s curriculum. A victory had been won, but WTR is less than happy. Here is what she says:

Anyway, long story short- I caved some. Ain't proud of it, but hey, I gotta live here, too, as do my younguns. Yeah, I know-no excuse. But my primary worry was the curriculum. Since they had no intentions of introducing any of the curriculum or lessons into the classes, we agreed that the posters could stay. So it was a weak compromise, but my main concern had been addressed...

I want to take this opportunity to explain to her, and the rest of you (which is why I’m posting this here and not on the comments section of her blog), why I think that she has nothing to be sorry for. In fact I think that she won an unalloyed victory.

In the first place let us remember that the Southern Poverty Law Center is a leach. It produces nothing (except trouble for the productive class) and must survive by holding its hand out for contributions. The production of posters is not cheap. Remember it isn’t just a matter of paying printing costs, but of having the original artwork done as well. Then they have to be shipped out to those who order them and in order to get orders in the first place they have to be promoted. The card that the teacher at WTR’s school filled out and sent in cost money to print and place. It doubtless also included free postage.

SPLC must have staff to process these orders, or they must pay a processing center to do it for them. Ditto for shipping. Also the nice metal frames that came with the posters must be procured and that costs additional money. All-in-all that package of posters represents an investment of resources for the SPLC which, thanks to WTR’s efforts, will never pay them any return.

If the contact information for SPLC had been allowed to remain on the posters it is likely that one or more of the teachers at the school would have gone over to their website and checked them out. Since it is a regrettable fact that the schools of education draw from the lower end of the IQ pool (go to any college with an education department and you will find that the students studying to become teachers will be in the bottom third of that college’s IQ distribution) it is likely that one or more of those teachers would have been swayed by their indoctrination. This would have led to the whole “tolerance” brain washing package being introduced into her children’s school.

As things stand now any questions about tolerance that the display of the posters brings up can be addressed in a manner consistent with the values of the community. In other words tolerance can be explained to the children in the traditional American sense (we do not round up homosexuals and murder them like Islamic countries do) rather than the insane moonbat sense (we pass laws forcing the First Baptist Church to perform homosexual “weddings”).

As I said a victory has been won. The SPLC has expended some of its finite resources in a way which could actually work against their agenda instead of spending them in a way which might have done real harm (which is their goal). I would encourage everyone to do the same thing. Send away for any free materials that moonbat organizations offer. So what if you get put on their mailing list and get lots of junk mail. It costs you nothing to throw away unopened mail and it costs them a great deal to send it. Let them burn up their cash sending appeals to people that they will never convince rather than reaching mushy moderates who they might sway.
